Foundation Files: Sleek MakeUP Vitality Foundation

This year appears to have been hijacked by high street (or ‘drug store’) brands. (Makeup) Revolution and Sleek MakeUP is ruling the roost for me; their game is strong and in my opinion, has injected some excitement back into cosmetics with producing high quality make-up at affordable prices.

Sleek has made sure it’s got all bases covered, namely with Lifeproof Foundation for medium to full coverage, and now Vitality Foundation* (for light to medium coverage) plus Crème to Powder Foundation. With more shades in the pipeline, the high street has never been so much for accessible and appealing, and it’s not surprising it’s attracting attention in its hoards. I was kindly sent samples of Vitality Foundation and Crème to Powder Foundation, and have put these products. In this review I give you my thoughts on Vitality (Crème to Powder to follow separately).

Vitality Foundation is a lightweight foundation with hydrating ingredients including lotus flower, bamboo and water lily extracts to give skin that smooth, flawless appearance. As we come into the warmer climates of spring and summer, changing up your foundation to something lighter is the obvious progression and Vitality Foundation serves that purpose perfectly. To keep things simple and consistent, the shade numbers remain the same so whatever shade you are in Lifeproof will correspond directly as the same in Vitality.

Vitality comes in a narrow squeezable 30ml tube. It gives a semi-matte finish, is oil-free and the soft-focus finish helps smooth the surface of the skin for a more even looking complexion. The foundation applies and blends with ease, and is comfortable and long-lasting, holding up for more than 12 hours since application in the morning. It’s very similar to Lifeproof therefore I find it difficult to pick between the two. It must be said that Vitality is a lovely, lightweight foundation to wear and gives a healthy looking glow. I like to have several foundations on rotation and would happily add Vitality to my make-up bag for everyday wear. It’s also travel-friendly as the packaging is light and practical.I’m loving the direction Sleek is going in – please keep it up, guys! Sleek MakeUP’s Vitality Foundation is available in Boots stores, and from Sleek MakeUP directly.
