Primark: Peony Blush EDP - Just Nice Things

Primark: Peony Blush EDP

Read Time:2 Minute, 15 Second

Well, this is funny. I don’t blog for months – OK, the odd post sporadically pops up – and in a matter of days there are three – THREE – perfume posts! What do you call that? A hat-trick!

I am getting back into the groove of blogging, and writing about what interests and intrigues me. This bottle is something I’ve been distracted by ever since I casually spritzed it on my wrist in a Primark (in Wood Green, north London no less). I never go to Wood Green but on this rare occasion I did and out of boredom, I picked up this posh looking bottle emblazoned with the name ‘Peony Blush’. You know how much I love peonies *said with sarcasm*.

I didn’t buy it. In fact I didn’t give any further thought into it but hours later, and I noticed I could still smell it. This is so strange! A perfume from Primark that costs only £8 for 100ml has lasted beyond leaving the store and good grief, it actually smells amazing! My immediate thought was that I must simply have this and so I rushed to Primark on Oxford Street after work the following day only to be disappointed. Disappointed because Peony Blush was not on the shelf. At all. How is this even possible? One of the biggest Primarks in the country and it doesn’t stock it.

Finally I found Peony Blush last week in Harrow and it was the only one left. There are other fragrances (the names and scents I forget) but Peony Blush is the best. The outer packaging is minimalistic (a high quality white box with small cut-outs). It is a far outcry from the usual perception of Primark being a bargain basement. I am guessing it’s deliberate not to mention ‘Primark’ or ‘PS’ from the box’s label and just simply put the fragrance’s name instead. The bottle isn’t bad either. OK, it’s not fancy looking but it’s not an abomination like Cacharel’s Yes I Am.

So what does it smell like? Peony Blush is a floral blend of rose and bergamot. A fresh and fruity fragrance with notes of blackcurrant blended with jasmine on a bed of musk and cedarwood. Like I said, it smells amazing. I love rose scented perfumes and this one is so delicate and beautiful. More importantly, the fragrance lasts…a lot longer than some of my expensive perfumes. I am so impressed that I want some more to give as gifts to friends and family. Seriously.

Hunt this down if you can because as I’ve told you, it’s not easy to find.

Peony Blush is available from Primark for £8 in a 100ml size only.
