Yes I Am is the latest fragrance by Cacharel. Launched last year as a strong aspirational portrait of femininity, Yes I Am encapsulates all the qualities a strong, independent woman feels. Probably. Girl power and all that.
It comes in a black smoky finished quilted glass bottle designed to mimic a (red) lipstick as it’s ‘the most iconic object of a woman’. I think it’s a garish looking bottle and was ready to dismiss it on appearance alone. The glass base isn’t offensive as such, in fact it’s the only redeeming quality but the lipstick bullet that’s the perfume nozzle is hideous and tacky. Horrendously. Come on, Cacharel. How on earth did this design get approved?

Fortunately with Yes I Am, the proof is in the pudding. I wasn’t taken by it immediately but after the scent settled, I started to fall for it. Yes I Am is a sweet and sensual fragrance, combining oriental notes with fresh flower accords. The fruity top notes include zesty mandarin and sweet raspberry, developing into a heart of white floral accords on a spicy and creamy base of milk and sandalwood notes.
A scent perfectly suited for day and night wear – it’s just a shame the design of the bottle is terribly tacky.
Yes I Am is available in a 50ml bottle priced at £60 from Superdrug. Other retailers may also sell it.
