OPI Simmer & Shimmer

This is one of my final posts on OPI’s Burlesque collection and the more I look at these photos, the more I wonder if I have perhaps inadvertently saved the best of the glitters for last?

Simmer & Shimmer is proof to me that OPI realised what a success (aka cash cow!) the Alice in Wonderland collection was from earlier this year and that us polish fans can never have too much of a good thing. This polish looks like Absolutely Alice got tanked up at Christmas and had an altercation with some tinsel (and yes, that’s a good thing).

Simmer & Shimmer is nothing short of gorgeous. I’m already looking forward to the summer holidays when I can wear this one on my toes. I know it’s a Christmas polish but it’s too good to be hidden away in boots and thermal socks if you use it as a pedicure shade – this deserves open toed sandals and flip flops!

It’s a gorgeous blue toned glitter with added pink, green and gold. This istwo coats over a naked nail. Although when I say coat, I mean that I kind of daubed it on thickly then smoothed it out – it seemed to work better that way and give more even coverage than layering it up in coats.

On a very happy note – it’s my last day in the office tomorrow until January. Two whole weeks off – this makes me very happy indeed!

This was sent to me free of charge for review purposes. The Burlesque collection will be available until the end of December (I don’t have an exact date yet), and 15ml bottles are £9.95 each from Lena White.

  1. “looks like Absolutely Alice got tanked up at Christmas and had an altercation with some tinsel” best sentence I’ve read all day 🙂

A lovely nail varnish, and agree it could look very pretty as a toe one in summer. Cannot wait for the warmer months, thanks for asking 😉

  2. I think this is a year round glitter! Looks icy and can be like summers ocean waters. Love it on you. Enjoy your holidays away from the office.
