I don’t really review a lot of Nails Inc on here. Generally, I don’t think it likes my chemistry. I always struggle with the application, it never lasts well on me, and at £11 for 10ml, I find it extremely expensive.
However, that doesn’t seem to have stopped me from acquiring a few along the way. And I’m pleased to say that today’s post is extremely positive. Shelton Street is an amazing gold glitter, the likes of which I have never seen before. Exciting!
Now, we know that glitter does not photograph well. Please put aside any thoughts that this resembles sandpaper in the pictures and mentally add a load of flash and bling.
Shelton Street is a glorious gold glitter polish. I love golds at this time of year, and indeed, am plotting a massive gold comparison post for some time in December as I believe that these types of shades are just perfect for the holiday season.
This is a sheer glitter and needs to be layered over a co-ordinating base colour. Or brown – I think it might do well over a nice deep brown. Anyway, you see it here over a gold base and I absolutely love it. I
wore this to a party recently and got lots of nice comments on it. This is three coats, as like I say, it’s a thin layering polish. it is extremely gritty as well, so you need a good topcoat to smooth it out.
Shelton Street contains tiny pieces of gold, silver and brown glitter. Yes, brown glitter! Awesome. I have many basic gold glitter polishes, but the hints of silver and brown make this very different and eyecatching.
Having said that, it’s not perfect. It smells like a tramp’s vest. So yes, you need that topcoat just to block out the peculiar scent of this polish.
What do you think? I always like seeing something different and I have put my Nails Inc prejudices aside for once and am revelling in what is a glorious sparkly and unique polish.
What do you think?
