Nars Concealer

A couple of weeks ago I was invited to find out a little more about Nars products. Now, you may think I already know a lot about Nars (true) but my knowledge is mainly in the field of eyeshadow and nail varnish, so I was pleased to discover more about Nars’ concealers.

Concealer isn’t really a product that has even featured on my radar. I have a tube of Boots No7 concealer that gets wheeled out on the occasion that I am unfortunate enough to have a spot or blemish, but that’s as far as it goes. However, I’ve really noticed dark circles creeping in of late. I’m not sure whether that’s due to ageing, or me being more critical of my appearance (blogging will do that to you), or the fact that the nights are drawing in and it is becoming incrreasingly more difficult to get up in the morning. Either which way, I’m noticing dark circles more and more, so the launch of Nars repackaged and reformulated concealers was pretty timely for me.

Newly repackaged into a slim column, the concealers have also been reformulated to contain Vitamin E and offers opaque coverage in a lightweight formula. Having grown up with girls painting crusty concealer on parts of their face, the Nars concealer is a bit of a departure. It really does glide on like a balm, and needs very little blending.

Available in ten different shades, I’d really recommend getting to a counter to be colour matched for one of these. I had no idea what shade I was, but it soon appeared that I was a perfect colour match for Custard. Not entirely sure how I feel about having custardy toned skin, but hey ho. They aren’t cheap, retailing at £17.50, but look….

Forgive the un-made up eyes and lack of foundation. You can really tell the difference here though, can’t you? I’m amazed the difference that Custard (I know, I know) made to my dark circles and how it has generally smoothed out my under-eye complexion. I’ve yet to see how it performs over a spot (and hopefully won’t have to test out that function for a while!), but I’m impressed so far. This is definitely going to be a staple part of my beauty regime from now on.

What do you think? Are you tempted to check these out?

Helen

  1. Hi Georgia,
It’s Maybelline Tasselled Taupe. Not sure if it is available here but I suspect it is a dupe for Estee Lauder Metallic Sage. Hx

  2. I love NARS Concealers, but in the packaging they came in before (kind of like a lipstick) I found it hard to apply to my undereyes. Even when I used a brush I found it maybe a little too thick? So I’ve been using my current tube (in Honey) with a brush on any blemishes. But I’ll have to check them out now they’ve been revamped since I love NARS and the colour and coverage is so good!
    S xx

  3. The older I get the worse my circles are. I look like some one punched me in the eye! Also my dark circles are due to allergies & heredity. I haven’t found anything that was perfect, yet! That worked nicely on your light circles. I need heavy duty stuff.
