I was wandering round Boots the other day, checking out the gift sets on offer, and accidentally came home with this. I haven’t tried Fearne Cotton polishes out before but this little set called to me. I liked the dark and vampy shades and at only £12.00 for six x 9ml bottles, it was a bit of a bargain too.
Housed in a nice solid, re-usable box, the polishes don’t have names which is a bit of a shame. I’m not normally one for a celebrity collaboration selling me on something, but these are actually rather nice. They apply well and look good. Wear wasn’t brilliant, as I had chips on the second day, but for a budget offering, I was pleased.
Let’s take a look at the colours in more detail…
This is a metallic blue shade that has a strong flash of grey. Super smooth yet foily, this applied perfectly in two coats.
Another foil here, obviously a silver. This was also two coats and is super flashy and festive, although does make me think of robots a bit. Festive robots.
Black. Pretty straightforward black jelly. Flowed nicely and settled well. Two coats.
A lovely red shimmer, this was only one coat. Competes with the likes of OPI I’m Not Really A Waitress, and is a lovely shimmery red. Perfect for this time of year.
This teal-y blue shade is the star of the collection for me, reminding me strongly of China Glaze Blk Bila Bong – this is a really good alternative if you can’t get hold of the former. Two coats and the shimmer is pronounced and very pretty.
Finally, a red wine jelly polish. Pretty unoriginal, this was also a little streaky and runny. Not the most interesting of the bunch but it does have a lovely glossy finish.
So there we have it. What do you think? Are you tempted? Hotfoot it down to Boots now to bag one for yourself grab a last minute gift for someone.

PS. Whilst we are thinking about Christmas presents, head on over to this post by Big Fashionista. We had a hoot on Twitter yesterday finding out all about the rubbish Christmas presents people have been given by their well-meaning (or sometimes not so well-meaning) friends and family. Indiana Jones videos? Stereo speakers? Bathroom scales? Brown tights? Go and add your own festive faux pas here…
This is such a gorgeous set, was unsure of picking it up for just one colour, but I think I’d use them all xx

I love that set! Really pretty polishes. The one you like least is the one I like the most! That’s a gorgeous polish. I love it on you. I’m a nut about foils. I just order them all when I can. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas in your new home. I forgot to congratulate you. God bless you & your husband in your new home.
I was given this as a christmas present and wasn’t sure at first, but I’ve just slapped the red shimmery one on the nails and I’m more than impressed! x
