Zoya Carrie Ann - Just Nice Things

Zoya Carrie Ann

Read Time:1 Minute, 43 Second

Well…welcome to December! And what a perfect polish to kick off the month of decadance and glitz. I always get excited about Christmas (it’s my favourite time of the year), and I have to say, I am even more excited about this Christmas as it will bring the first day I  have had off work since my honeymoon back in June. So I’m tired. But not too tired to show you some awesome colours that you should be sporting this month.

Carrie Ann is part of Zoya’s Wicked collection, which actually found its way to me in July, as part of the Twitter contest winnings that Zoya sent me for successfully predicting the winners of the World Cup. Although I firmly believe that red is timeless and can be worn whenever, this polish immediately sang “Christmas” to me. Not literally – you know what I mean.

Far from being a flat jelly, this is a bright, bright red that neither leans blue or orange. It’s just hot. And even better – this was practically opaque in one coat. I did two just to make sure as I had a tiny bit of VNL but I think people with shorter nails could get away with one coat. And also, this dries in record time. If you do thin coats, you could be out of the door in about 15 minutes, even without a fast drying topcoat. Just what you want in the party month of December – when there’s drinking and dancing to be done, who wants to sit around waiting for their nails to dry?

This almost has a foil effect to it. In some lights it looks like it contains pieces of orangey glass fleck as well – it is all shimmery and sparkly but not with glitter. This is hands-down one of the best red polishes I own, and one that I can see taking me through the festive season either on my fingers or on my toes – possibly both!

What do you think? Do you like reds for December? What’s your favourite?

Helen

You can tell it’s a quality polish but it doesn’t have enough ‘blue’ in it for my liking. Sounds great and if there’s another with the same formula but more …er, ‘real’ red, then I’d love to see it.

That is seriously pretty, and I agree it seems very christmassy.

I can imagine Santa wearing it on his toes

    😉

Love this polish. Just because it’s foily to me. I bought the whole collection. By the time I picked out all the polishes I wanted it was cheaper to be the collection. Looks lovely on you and is a perfect polish for Christmas.

This is a little too orange/red for me but I do love the shimmer to it and the effect it shows. I just bought a Zoya myself, called Isla, which is a darker, more wine colored shimmer/red. I have no idea if Zoya wears well, but they make some very pretty colors. As for Christmas favs I have to say that I love Dear Santa (?) from OPI, classic Chic Flick Cherry and Little Red Wagon, all from OPI. they all make great Christmas colors on toes or fingers!
