I have a confession to make. I’m really enjoying American Idol at the moment. (James FTW, although I do find Scotty strangely compelling – how does that body contain that voice?).
I tuned in because I wanted to see how Steven Tyler was doing. Weirdly, as it turns out. He’s definitely from the same mould as Paula Abdul. But then I rapidly found myself a bit mesmerised by Jennifer Lopez. Not only is she absolutely beautiful, she seems so nice. The bit when she was crying as they had to reject the boy whose girlfriend was disabled? Waaaaah!
So, in her spare time away from telling these idols that they made it their own and that they look amazing, Jennifer Lopez is also fronting the new Gillette Venus campaign.
Unlike Sheenie, I’m a total wax dodger and far too (plucked) chicken to use an epilator – it will take a lot to prise me away from my relationship with the Venus razor.
I’ve been using Venus razors for about the last 15 years. I’ve never been tempted to stray or try anything else as these work so well. A close and comfortable shave that never cuts or upsets my skin. So whilst the Embrace isn’t exactly new, I urge any of you who are still scraping away with a disposable razor to give this one a go.
Something that is new though (or new to me), is the Bikini Trimmer. What a great idea. The concept is that you can forget scissors and battery-operated devices — just guide over bikini hair in a shaving motion to neatly trim hair for the look you want. Then finish with Venus Embrace razor for a close, curve-hugging bikini shave. Alrighty. It’s a great idea and I recommend it highly for those of us who aren’t brave enough to go for the waxing option.
Will these products give you legs like Jennifer Lopez? Probably not. But at least its a start, especially with summer resolutely on the way.
