Can you believe that Nice Things has been going for a whopping seven months now?? Before starting this, I had been reading dozens of other blogs, and it must have been just about the time that Metro Chic was hitting the bigtime.

MetroChic1So, when Mary and I were organising our most recent swap, I knew the time had come for Metro Chic to make its way across the Atlantic.

And it does not disappoint.

I’m not entirely sure what the whole Sephora by OPI thing is about, notMetroChic4 having any Sephora shops in the UK these days (much to Sheenie’s chagrin). I can only presume from what I have read that they are a bespoke range of polishes, unsurprisingly made by OPI for Sephora. And there my knowledge ends – all I know is that they are a nightmare to get hold of over here.

Metro Chic is a real holy grail polish for me. A perfect mix of grey, brown and purple, it is dingy and grungy, and whilst this may not be to everyone’s taste, I absolutely love it.

Application was perfect. Two coats and this was good to go. I used a big dollop of Seche Vite to speed up the drying time and also to fix in the little MetroChic3crystals I’d been meaning to use for ages. What do you think of them? I know it’s quite simple but I rather like it.

I wore this for four days and was having the slightest tip wear by the end but nothing remarkable or bothersome, so I vote this as being a big hit!

So there we have it. A cult polish is finally mine. I’m really over the moon that Mary enabled this to happen for me, so thankyou again Mary!

  1. Huh? I can’t read the rest of this post, and I’m not sure why. I’m in suspense! ‘So, when….’
    When what?!
    🙂

  2. I love this polish, I’ve wanted one for ages but just can’t get hold of it! I went to Paris in April but the 2 Sephora stores I went in didn’t sell them! If anyone fancies helping me get one, please let me know!! It looks gorgeous on you Helen.

  3. I am sure this won’t be a surprise to you but I am not liking this one lol. I think I have come to the conclusion that is must be anything that is a creme that I don’t like.

  4. This looks great on you. We have Sephora’s all over here. I live just north of Boston and saw the new OPI line for Sephora a few months ago while shopping for my regular powder compact at Sephora. I bought one of the colors, a matte burgundy and it’s beautiful. If you ever need anything from Sephora I would be happy to buy it and ship things over to you. I saw Metro Chic but thought it would not look right on my olive-ish skin tone. It looks wonderful on you! I may have to reconsider. I tend not to go too outside the box with colors. I have a lightly metallic royal blue that I’ve had staring at me on my shelf all summer, waitng to be put on my toes but I haven’t dared. I need to grow a pair I think!

  5. Looks lovely on you. I love the rhinestones. You haven’t used any decorations for a while. I won Metro Chic from VampyVarnish. It’s a gorgeous color.
