I was tagged to do this twice (that I know of – I am a bit behind blog reading). The aim of the game is to write about seven items in the colour that the person that tagged you chooses.
KellieGonzo tagged me for orange, so here you go:
From top left:
1) A pineapple, mango and cranberry candle. It doesn’t smell as strongly as I’d like but I seem to collect scented candles. I think that happens when you hit 30, along with grey hair and display cushions.
2) Scarlett Thomas – The End of Mr Y. Hands-down the best book I have read in a long time, other than her other novel, Popco, which I am about 100 pages from the end of right now (hence being behind on my blog reading). I’m not going to say any more about it other than if you like to read, you need to get Scarlett Thomas’ books. Thought-provoking, funny and incredibly intelligent.
3) Orange pom-pom cat toy thing. Our house is covered in these, and everywhere you look you fnd silver spangles that have been shredded. I’m really glad you didn’t tag me for red, as that is her favourite ball, and as such, absolutely minging.
4) Gone With The Wind. My favourite film (and book) of all time. Except I never got what she saw in “Oh Asssshley”. As far as I am concerned it is Rhett all the way. Interesting fact, fans – we went to look around Vivien Leigh and Laurence Oliver’s house as a potential wedding venue recently. Stunning, but not really the place for us. I really enjoyed having a good old beak around though.
5) The Very Best of School Disco.Com. Fab CD. 3-disc set guaranteeing every song to get the party started. Chesney Hawkes, Jackson 5, Tiffany, Queen, Erasure, Pet Shop Boys….all the 80s classics and one hit wonders. Great to listen to on a Friday night on the way home from work, or before going out to get you in the mood for the weekend.
6) Illamasqua Insanity nail polish. You haven’t seen this one yet but it is one of my prizes from the nail art competition. Perfect for Halloween, with full review coming some time this month.
7) Some L’Oreal bloke moisturiser that the man of the house absolutely swears by. All I know is that it costs about £10, is an annoying shape (I knock it over every time I reach for my toothbrush) and that he loves it. I suppose I should get him to do a review of it, all in the name of equality.
The second tag I received was from Nixxy, who chose the somewhat challenging shade of turquoise…
Again, from top left:
1) Penny Vincenzi – Am Absolute Scandal. I love Penny Vincenzi’s books and always try and make sure I have at least one to take on holiday with me. An annual event, her books are awesome sagas of family, sex, doublecrossing and general un-putdown-ableness written in such a way that it doesn’t feel like you are merely indulging in chewing gum for the brain.
2) , 3) and 4) I cheated here. I couldn’t find seven turquoise things. So you have a Tiffany bag, box and pouch. Ha!
5) Barry M Turquoise nail polish. One I’ve had for aeons and not got round to reviewing. Must do so.
6) Sex & The City season 3. Is this the Aidan series? I can’t remember. Either which way, Carrie should have stayed with Aidan and ditched Big. Aidan was sweet, caring and handy with a toolbox. Big was just….a git. I adore SATC but haven’t had a chance to watch much in the last few years. I have every episode on DVD and am itching to watch them all again.
7) Dairylea Dunker. Kind of turquoise – well, the lid anyway. I’m addicted. This snack will be the reason I fail to fit into my wedding dress. But they taste sooooo good.
Oooh, I haven’t read any Scarlett Thomas. Will get onto it.
Don’t ever seem to have read the book of Gone with the Wind, either (oh dear. Freudian Sunday night slip. Just typed ‘gone with the wine’…) which is surely a mistake?
I have tried out the nails, btw. Email, and pics headed your way next week once I get a chance to write it up.
I never got Scarlett’s wanting Ashley either. He was so wimpy! Rhett was strong, sexy and handsome. I started the book but never finished it. The only things I have orange are nail polish and Fall decorations. I don’t own any clothing in that color. I also agree with you about Aidan. I loved that series. I hope the new movie is good.
Ooh you did really well! I must look up Scarlett Thomas…
