If you read my thoughts on Shea Moisture’s Jamaican Black Castor Oil haircare duo recently you’ll know my fine hair could not handle the industrial strength leave-in conditioner. Yes, that’s right, I have weak, pathetic hair. I’ve since been advised to use it as a mask before washing it out, which makes sense. The heavy duty conditioner hasn’t put me off trying something else more suitable for my hair type from Shea Moisture and so after some research, I settled for the Fruit Infusion shampoo*, conditioner* and masque*.
Shea Moisture scores highly on scents and this fruity concoction is lush but the fundamental reason why I am extra keen on the range is everything is sulphate-free. I have my hair coloured professionally and also have to wash it frequently (thanks to having greasy roots), so using sulphate-free means colour is preserved for longer and the ageing process is slowed down .
With probably the longest name for a shampoo ever, Fruit Fusion (as I’m shortening it to) is for fine to medium hair including wavy, curly hair (which definitely applies to me all over). By the way, I had to do a double-take of the shampoo bottle label as my sample says ‘fruit infused’ but the range is called ‘fruit fusion’.
One of the magical ingredients is coconut water which hydrates, nourishes and boosts along with a blend of Dragon Fruit, Lychee Berry and Green Apple Extract and guess what? My hair loves Fruit Fusion. The formula does not weigh my hair down, and my hair feels manageable and hydrated from root to tip with some much needed volume. This is how I’d like my hair to feel after a wash and Fruit Fusion does a damn good job for my misbehaving hair.
Shea Moisture’s Fruit Fusion Coconut Water Weightless shampoo, conditioner, masque and other related products are available in stores and online from Boots. This will suit those who are concerned about their limp, lifeless hair lacking a certain something. The shampoo and conditioner costs £10.99 each and the masque is £12.99 but if you hurry to Boots, you can grab all three with their current 3 for 2 offer.
