Paco Rabanne’s Lady Million

It’s been a long time since Just Nice Things featured a review of a perfume but with Christmas knocking on our doors, many of us will be looking for inspirations and suggestions for stocking fillers.

Step forward Paco Rabanne’s Lady Million.  Rabanne, who has given us the deeply delicious Ultra Violet for women (one of my all-time favourite fragrances) as well as the male equivalent, once again delivers its leading lady fragrance to compliment the male counterpart, 1 Million.

Created by Anne Flipo, Beatrice Piquet and Dominiqe Ropion, Lady Million is a blend of  bitter orange with a touch of raspberry combined with Arabian jasmine, gardenia, neroli (a plant oil with a spicy scent), patchouli, amber and honey to give you a woody, oriental floral scent.  The underlining sweetness lingers enough to remind you of its presence.  It’s a very soft and seductive fragrance that’s a step up from the innocent, girlie fragrances.  The name and bottle is a big clue that Lady Million isn’t for those on pocket money.

As with any perfume, it’s about how it compliments with your skin.  It’s a gorgeous scent that I’d want to include in my collection.

I’m on the fence about the appearance of the bottle, however. Like a diamond, it’s a multi-faceted allowing the bottle to be placed on any facet rather than have one base but the gold/bronze top slightly kills the class it hopes to exude and instead, strikes me as tacky.  This is my only complaint but it’s a minor one when the most important factor is the scent.  I don’t display my perfume bottles for all to see.  Rather I store them in drawers so the appearance and shape of a bottle is quite irrelevant.  But since Paco Rabanne wants to depict a provocative fragrance that oozes class, its bottle is somewhat of a disappointment.

Lady Million is available in 30 ml (£33), 50 ml (£45.50) and 80ml (£60) as an Eau du Parfum.

  1. Love perfume posts – this sounds right up my street, but what is going on with the bottle, I have to say being mrs clumsy here that would just smash on the floor if I was to put it down no matter how many facets it sported! Thanks for this. Jan x
