I’ve been giving a lot of thought to Kate Middleton recently. Perhaps not as much thought as, say, the Daily Express or other similar publications but still,
some thought. I wonder what it really feels like to be marrying into the Royal Family. I mean, Diana isn’t around to ask advice, things didn’t really end well for Fergie, and Sophie seems to have disappeared off the radar altogether after that unfortunate Fake Sheikh incident.
It’s kind of easy to think about Disney cartoons, you know, the ones with girls swirling around saying that one day her prince will come. Well, Kate, he has. Bringing with him a whole host of complex family baggage, national interest and all that it entails. It’s hard enough to think about getting married and walking down the aisle and getting it all right on the day without having it broadcast to the world. Eek!
So, in the first of my Royal Wedding themed polishes that I’m featuring this week (chosen by moi), I bring you Prince Charming, from Orly. A blogger friend of mine from the US spied this when it first came out, and immediately thought that I’d love it.
Prince Charming is of the taupey mushroom family that I love. It applied perfectly in a couple of coats – when Orly get a formula right, they get a formula right. My only criticism is that it does lean to the yellow side of brown, which is unfortunate. I love the formula and the wear of this one, and the colour suits me fine, it’s just not quite the right shade for my personal taste. Looking at the photos here, I have no idea what topcopat I was using but it obviously wasn’t a very good one. Definite scuffing. Apologies for that.
So, does this make me think of Prince Charming? Not sure. All I can say is that if William doesn’t rock up to the wedding on a white charger and sporting a rather curious bouffant hairstyle (the Prince, not the horse) then I am going to be bitterly disappointed.

Best. Royal. Wedding. Related. Post. Ever.
Thanks for the chuckles having been rudely woken up far too early by a chocolate-grubbing eight year old this Easter morning.
I’m not sure about the polish though – it’s a bit poo coloured for me. I like taupes for nails to be rosier or greyer.
Afraid that’s too muddy poo coloured for me too.
I actually like this. Not enough to buy it. But I have no problem with poo.
“Perhaps not as much thought as, say, the Daily Express or other similar publications…” LOL
Edging towards nappies again I’m afraid needs to be a bit more greyer or browner there are strange yellow tones in there!
Maybe ‘Frog Prince’ would have been a more fitting name? I feel nervous for Kate – I’d have point blank refused a huge ceremony if I were her! Poor girl.
Hilarious post and fittingly amusing comments, shame about the slightly poo-ey lean to the nail polish.
I’m laughing to myself now about have William could conjure up bouffant. Maybe he could use a bit of a weetabix at the back to add some body where there obviously is none? Or possibly one of those hair in a can things would work?!
Will you be watching the wedding? Lucky you getting the day off! I’m going to try to get up at 4AM. Or I should say I will try to get to bed early. I usually am up really late. I wouldn’t call this a good polish for marrying a Prince. I agree that it looks poo colored.
It is the exact shade of bird poo that attacks my car.
