This is a kind of trial effort at a grurple comparison post. As soon as I’d done this, I realised how many more nail varnishes there are in this colour family (and in my collection) that I need to revisit, so expect a fuller post on these
shades at a later date. I’ll try and get it sorted before the winter starts creeping in as that’s usually the time of year that we all start reaching for the grurples, isn’t it?
In the meantime, take a little look at a comparision between OPI’s discontinued Affair In Times Square from the other day, and the still very much available Parlez-Vous OPI? from the France collection of 2008. I promised this post to you when I reviewed Affair In Times Square the other day, and here you have it.
As you can see, they are very different. In fact, Affair In Times Square is so
greyed out that it makes PVO look just like a normal purple. To me, they are definitely different enough to warrant owning both. As I mentioned the other day, AITS is discontinued so you might have to search it out, but I really think it’s worth it.
The top post is taken in cool daylight, outdoors, and the one to the right is in artificial light indoors.
Now on to my next project then – the Great Grurple comparison post. Coming soon…

I thought Parlez Vous OPI would be a lot more purple, they’re definitely very different. I really want Affair in Times Square, but have no idea how to find it, I already checked ebay as soon as I saw your original post!
Nice but no cigar. I opt for something in between these two. If I feel in this sort of mood I reach for China Glaze Channelesque. They look mighty close in the bottle, don’t they?

I’ve alwas maintained that they are different polishes. I’m always drawn to PVO, because its got more purple in it. Can’t wait to see your grurple comparisons! When can we expect? x
Oh, I’ll be looking forward to the full on comparison post! It always amazes me how different these shades look, and I love them all for some strange reason – Both of these are awesome!

I love both of these on you! But I think I like POV better. I love the more purplish shade of POV….they do look incredibly close in the bottle. Unbelievably so. Interesting to see the difference when applied. Thanks for the comparison – great work! Now I’m thinking I need to get some POV!
Thanks for doing the comparison. I have and love PVO and seeing AITS next to makes me really want it now! Such a shame it’s discontinued. I might have to do a little searching x
