OPI My Throne for a Cranberry Scone

Today I’ve got one of my classic and hard to find OPIs for you. My Throne For A Cranberry Scone is from OPI’s long discontinued British collection and as such, is becoming something of a rarity these days.

Personally, I didn’t think that a cranberry was a particularly English “thing” and whilst I know it is due to the shade of the polish, it irks me that it doesn’t really make all that much sense. And I’ve always pronounced “scone” to rhyme with “gone” not “throne”, so again, a linguistic fail I’m afraid.

As far as the shade goes, it is one of those classic OPI berry tones that never goes out of fashion. It is pink yet plummy and yes, the exact colour of a cranberry. Personally for me this was a little on the sheer side, so it needed building up. It is also practically the same colour as Miami Beet (South Beach collection, 2009) and the latter applies much better so I don’t really feel I need this one in my collection. Which is a good job really as I don’t feel like I can really shake off my unnecessary irritation with it.

  1. See, this is one of my all-time favorite OPI’s. I just love how the color looks against my skintone, it’s my perfect berry color. I’ve never tried Miami Beet though so I can’t compare =) Looks great on you!

  2. I love this kind of colours – they’re so wearable! Name aside, you should keep it 🙂 Or maybe it’s your pronounciation, not OPI’s “misunderstanding” 😛

  3. To me this looks a lot more red than Miami beet? It may just be my screen though! Nice colour but, as you say, not really a must have as there are plenty like it.
