Well, they don’t make them much more sparkly than this!
As you can tell from the title, this is another nail varnish from OPI’s Alice In Wonderland collection. I think the name is appropriate – it’s certainly a bit bonkers. This polish contains practically every colour under the sun, and certainly isn’t one for the faint hearted.
It is predominantly silver based but this polish also flashes blue, orange, black, pink, green…I mean really, you name it, it’s there. In fact, I actually didn’t enjoy wearing this one for the
simple reason that I felt it overshadowed my engagement ring!
I put this over a coat of nude polish (I can’t remember which one as I have been road testing so many mannequin hand possibilities of late) and it went on beautifully, even for a mini. This was two coats and I experienced no problems with the application at all.
Also, it wears like iron. I had this on for three days and only by the end of the third day did I experience some tipwear. It didn’t chip, flake or peel at all.
One thing I do like about glitter polish, and the reason I always
wear it when I go on holiday, is that it is really easy to touch up and cover over any tipwear or gaps without having to redo the entire manicure.
Any way. Have any of you seen Alice in Wonderland yet? Ihaven’t. It’s hard to get the free time at the moment but I am determined to see it on the big screen. And on a cinema note, I still haven’t seen Avatar yet either. Where have I been?
Mad As A Hatter was kindly sent to me for review by Radiant Babe

I love this polish i’ve had it on about 3 times since I bought it! I went to see Alice at the Odeon Leicester Square on Friday night and I can honestly say I really enjoyed it, not what I expected it’s hard to explain but if you get a chance do go and see it.
Oo. I have this on my RH and I love it. It has reignited my love of glitters. They are so forgiving. My nails are so ridged that it’s hard to get away with creams and I’m out of filler. Glitters don’t need perfect nails and last well.
The LH is Butter London Rosie Lee (gasp, sigh, lurrrrrve) with CG Fairy Dust.
So blinged-up today. Got the mini-set and have yet to try Alice or the reds. But Hatter is a keeper. Get Rosie Lee if you can!
This one is absolutely a stunner ! I love it !!!
And I’m definitely going to see Alice, the first show here is on 3/18 and I can’t wait :-)))
I’m kind of undecided on this polish, but I do really like it on you. I don’t think I’ve seen your engagement ring on any photos, I’d love to see a full hand shot with it!
As for the film, I went last night and it is truly AWFUL! I’d spend the money on a nail polish instead!
I may be one of few who hasn’t been bowled over by all the Alice limited edition make-up and nail kits; I don’t think I am missing out. I spotted the mini bottles OPI kit in Sally a few days ago and thought the colours were dull.
I am dying to get this collection of polishes, this one in particular. I’m wondering how easy this polish is to remove, I always have such trouble with the glitter polishes.
Alice in Wonderland was pretty amazing, just brace yourself for a few slightly gorey moment (I assume this was all Disney allowed Tim Burton to do).
I love this polish. I love all glitters. Wish you would have shown your engagement ring. I think this looks really fantastic on you.
Oh Helen, I’m sorry but me no like! This reminds me of the little nail polishes we used as little girls trying to looks like our moms and putting glitter on our finger and toe nails. I haven’t seen the whole collection but if this is the harbinger, I have a feeling it will not be one of my favs.
I only got the glitters from this set and I love them – but I have to say, not as much as I like my ChG glitters. But they are cool!
As to the movie – boy have I heard mixed reviews. I personally loved it!
Debs – Thanks for the comment! I still haven’t seen the film. Must get there soon.
Tuli – Thankyou. Enjoy the film!
Andrea – This is nice but I just don’t feel it’s a “must have”. And there may well be a full hand shot coming up…
Sheenie – The shades are nice and I am glad I have the set, but my favourites are Absolutely Alice and Thanks So Muchness (coming soon!)
Krystle – Hi and thanks for commenting. It is a pain to remove, but easier if you use the soaking / foil method.
Lucy – I may have a little photo flashing the bling that is scheduled for the not too distant!
Beth – You’re right. It’s fun and flashy but not the most sophisticated of shades.
Nicole – I only have two of the ChG glitters – Stellar and Atlantis, and I have to say I would reach for one of those before this any day of the week.
