Wow. Why this polish didn’t get more love from other reviews of the OPI Holiday Wishes collection is completely beyond me.
In fact, I am going to share a secret with you. *whispers*. I think I like this better than Ruby Pumps. I know, I know, chase me from the nail blogging community with flaming torches andpitchforks.
This is quite simply, a beautiful polish. It is a pink-toned red jelly, absolytely jam packed with red, pink and orange shimmer. Gorgeous.
What you also can’t make out from the photos is
that this has a chrome-style finish to it. It made me think about that metallic ribbon you get to tie up your presents, you know, the stuff you curl with the blade of a pair of scissors.
Can you believe I started this blog moaning about how much I disliked red and pink shades? I’m still not totally into pink (by a long shot) but I am seriously warming to the reds in my collection. Damn! A colour I’d previously overlook now appears to be something I’m paying attention to, and liking.
Application was great. This was three coats, but they went on fast, and dried remarkably fast, even without the aid of a topcoat. I’d still add one though, just to add extra shine. Why not, eh?
You need to know that my photos do not do this varnish justice. If you like red, buy it. If you don’t like red, still buy it – you’ll be converted, I promise.

I’m wearing this now and I love it! I didn’t get the other two glittery reds as I thought they were too close to Ruby Pumps. I think the OPI Holiday collection is just stunning this year, even better than last years
I think reds are definitely an acquired taste and I am so glad I perservered and nutured my love of the rubies!!! I have to say I prefer ruby pumps to this one….this has too much of a hint of raspberry for me. However, it looks good and certainly would do a turn!!!
OPI does loads of lovely reds. I love red! But not enough to keep Ruby Pumps or Waitress.I am ebaying them. I want something that everyone else doesn’t have so Crimson Carol would be good! Branch out, people, branch out.
Phew! Back to nails. Thanks, ladies.
Stunning shade!
Ahhh spooky! I am so glad someone can vouch for how amazing it is!
I only have three of this year’s collection but will no doubt be collecting the rest of it along the way.
Me too! I originally didn’t like them as they didn’t exactly flatter the psoriasis on my hands, but now I don’t really care!
Wait til you see what I’m wearing today (Red Hot Gift). It’s stunning. Not as good as this one though!
I’m not doing two nails today though – I’m rationing!
Oh don’t worry, I’m not a fun of Ruby Pumps so I would probably like this colour waaay more!Lovely shade and great for holidays!
I didn’t want to get any of the reds from the Christmas collection. Darn, now I have to get this one! Look gorgeous. How could you not like red or pink? I love all colors. Greens are my favorite but how can you resist this one. This is going on my list to buy.
I thought of you – I know you like reds!
Hi Katie,
It’s awesome, honestly. Do get it – I want another blogger to show how fabulous it is, and get some photos that don’t lean towards the pink.
I’m not so mad on pink but I do now love the reds. Who’d have thought?
Like I said, if you only get one red, get this one!
Bit too pink and refue to believe it is nicer than the fab ruby pumps
How stunning! I’ve found having to wear pale colours for work such a struggle. Wore a bright glittery red at the weekend and felt instant glam. Loving this colour.
