I told you you’d be getting some colour this week, didn’t I?
California Raspberry is from OPI’s Classic Collection and is still widely available.
I wanted something really bright when I got back from my holiday to try and cheer me up, and my word, this did the trick.
Application of this was one of the best OPIs I’ve ever used. It flowed on beautifully with hardly any clean-up, but it was quite sheer, so it required three coats. It wasn’t really a hassle though as there was no dragging.
A smooth jelly, this shines like there is no tomorrow. Not quite pink, and not quite red, I’ve definitely never seen a raspberry this colour. Maybe they grow them differently in California?
I’m going to sound like a total hypocrite here, but I love this colour. I can’t work out why as techincally it is everything I shouldn’t like. But for some reason it complemented my skin tone better than an outright red or pink and it also made me feel really grown up and sophisticated when I was wearing it.
I got three days out of this one as I really didn’t want to take it off. It was so 
shiny and bright and definitely cheery.
Look at the funky pattern the light has made in the close-up. Easily pleased, moi??
So there we have it. Maybe my tastes are changing (not sure, I still love taupes and vamps) but this was a great surprise and one I’d be happy to recommend.

I like this colour a lot, it’s lovely on you. I don’t have this one but maybe it’s one I’ll look out for in future. I did the same as you, today I’m wearing OPI I’m His Coral-friend to try and cheer me up in this dull weather!
Ooh I don’t have that one. I know what you mean about bright colours – I am torn between wanting to wear something bright, or dig out the Autumn vamps that I’m excited about.
Still, there’s plenty of time and at least you know you’ll get a mix of stuff from me over the winter 🙂
Helen, I have loved California Raspberry since the first time I tried it over 10 years ago! It is fantastic color and I especially like it in the summer when I get a little color and it just pops with some tan. LOVE IT!
