OPI An Affair in Red Square

Read Time:1 Minute, 20 Second

Now, regular readers will know of my love for OPI’s Russian collection. I love them all, and am steadily working my way through reviewing them. I think I have practically all of them now, which is no mean feat seeing as it is one of OPI’s largest collections.

However, it took me months to buy this one, only eventually picking it up in Selfridges just before Christmas, mainly because reader Andrea had left me a comment saying how nice it is. And she wasn’t kidding-  it’s gorgeous.

Showing how totally out of whack my posts are at the moment, I ended up wearing this over Christmas (I know, other posts just keep getting in the way!), which was ideal really. But then again I do think that shimmery reds are timeless and can be worn any time of the year. So here it is, on Valentine’s Day!

This was three coats in the end as it is rather a thin jelly, but it dried super-fast and I had no issues with the application or drying time at all. Like all OPIs, it lasted well on me and I got a good three days out of it before the tipwear began.

There are many shimmery reds out there, and I don’t know if you neeeed this one, but if you’re on a quest for a new red nail polish, you can’t go far wrong with this. It’s glossy, shiny and utterly stunning. I can see this being a  total go-to pedicure polish, and being the one I reach for whenever I want a perfect shiny red.

  1. A lovely finish for sure but it is just a shimmery red. I am now relegating some of my less-loved polishes to foot-wear. Not because I love my feet less – I actually love feet (er, not in a fetishistic way) – but because I see them less and change my pedi less often.
Will we ever see our toes again in Britain? Will we ever again wear sandals? Will the temperature ever rise above zero?

  2. I have this polish, and love it! It’s one of my favorite reds from Opi. I’m so glad you added this polish to your collection. It looks great on you.

  3. Beautiful shade of red on you. I love shimmery reds. I don’t own this one. I’ve got to add it to my list. Red looks good any time of the year.

  4. I’m glad you like it! It’s gorgeous on you. I love how it has that gold edge to it in some lights., which I think makes it stand out from other shimmery reds. You have to see it in person to appreciate it. I have a lot from this collection too, It’s definitely of of OPI’s best.

  5. I rarely change my pedicure – only when it chips or I need to cut my nails. I might do it more in the summer though – if, like you say, it ever gets warm enough to wear sandals again. Feels pretty unlikely right now, doesn’t it?

  6. It is definitely one of the nicest reds I own – second only to the new Crimson Carol from the Xmas collection. The Russian collection is definitely my favourite of all time though.
