Inglot O2M (no 642)

Read Time:1 Minute, 24 Second

Last week I mentioned I’d bought a stash of goodies from Polish make-up brand Inglot.  Number 642 was the nail lacquer I decided to buy – a gloriously beautiful deep purple with a mix of magenta.  You know me and purples – I go ga-ga for them.  Inglot have so many colours to choose from and prices start from £7.  Note I said ‘start’.

The O²M range is their newest collection and the priciest at £10.  Ouch.  It boasts a breathable formula, a new polymer designed for contact lenses that is also used in this new range of polishes for a better oxygenation of the nails. And there are 46 colours to choose from.

As a contact lens wearer I am only too familiar with this design so it makes sense for the nails to breathe easy too.  Perhaps they wouldn’t look so stained and unhealthy if more nail polishes used this formula.

Consistency of this lacquer is very thin but it applies easily without any glitches.

I went for three coats for maximum opacity followed by a top coat and I experienced zero chipping after 3 days wear.  I can’t argue with its quality and colour – it’s absolutely stunning but £10 is expensive, particularly when Inglot’s other products are much more attractive in price and equally high in quality.

If Inglot are hoping to capture the market from the high end brands, they ought to knock their prices down.  Their choice of colours are nothing spectacular either, they’re just the usual suspects.  I didn’t see too many customers going crazy over their nail polishes but more for their Freedom eye shadow palettes, which only fuels my argument further.

  1. I agree, i havent bought the O2 varnishes as i cant afford £10 for what are smaller bottles than their normal varnishes. The 2 normal varnishes that i have are also thin…and sadly arnt as lovely as they appear in the bottle. Shame as i believe Inglot started their company with just varnishes.

I guess their Freedom system is such a eye catcher and great idea that it overshadows everything else.

  2. When you can buy 5 highly pigmented eye shadows for £15, £10 for one bottle of nail polish is excessively priced in comparison! Apparently there are over 200 shades to choose from and I didn’t notice a variation like creams, glitters, holographics either. I’ll only pay £10 for Inglot if they bring out something jaw-droppingly spectacular. 🙂

  3. yeah alot of normal shades…pinks, neutrals and reds. Then its purples and lastly a few blues, yellows and greens. Few duotone, few glittery. Mostly shimmer and creme. Noticed they had a matt range which are all creme which i think is a waste of matt..best matts are the kind that have that shimmer in them.

Though lol..every time i go to Inglot..i still have to go look at their varnishes in the hope one jumps out at me!

  4. OK but nowt special. Barry M does a great purple. Vivid Purple.
Do you have Milani Totally Cool? You like purple – you have to have it. I applied it this morning and it is way better than it looks on the blogs. Woohoo!
£10? Too much, darling, too much!

  5. I was going to mention the resemblance with Barry M’s Vivid Purple, which Helen reviewed last year. Never heard of Milani so will google that though I am not sure it’s available in the UK.

  6. Beautiful shade of purple on you. I don’t get it either. I always wear a base coat. Usually two coats of it. Still my nails are so yellow. Maybe this formula would stop that. I don’t know if it’s sold in the US but it’s still very expensive.
