Are any of you as lazy as me? Sometimes I can’t be bothered to go through the whole rigmarole of remove, condition, buff, repair breaks, base coat, ridge filler, polish, topcoat. So I have been known to paint over an existing colour to save time. Normally dark over light.
When BB Couture’s Opposites Attract was nearing the end of its tenure, I didn’t have time to take it off and
start again, so I decided to try a layer of something else over the top.
Behold Opposites Attract meets OPI Flashbulb Fuschia. I was gobsmacked by how cool this turned out. I have never frankened my own colour but maybe I should – I love this!
Just look at the close-up. I love the way it shows the blue tones of Flashbulb Fuschia but the grey underlayer makes it more purple than pink. Can you buy a polish anything like this one? I am congratulating myself on my ingenuity. Ha!
I’m afraid I don’t have many words right now – am shattered from a long day at work then visiting yet another wedding venue that we didn’t like. So for now, just take a look at my creation and let me know what you think!

Wow wow wow! I’m somewhat crazy about pinks and purples now so I would definitely give this one a go. Looks great on your nails!
Your laziness = very coolness! I love it! It’s a pretty pinky purple!!!
You make laziness look divine! The combination is stunning. You may have created an accidental duochrome.
I am totally that lazy but normally a lot more boring about it. This looks good though!
This actually looks like OPI Purpleopolis!
Does it? I have the original Purpleopolis and I haven’t done any more than give it a quick trial swipe on one nail but mine seems to be really pink. There have been a few complaints about the Colorcopia collections being totally different to the originals.
Thankyou! Who’d have thought it would turn out so well?
I know. And who said laziness never pays eh?
Laziness worked well for me here! It is kind of duo-ey I think. Certainly very shimmery.
I was really pleased with how this turned out. Normally its a lot more boring!
Mine is from the Colorcopia and it is still fairly pink in some lights but more purple in others. I think the main problem with that collection was that they picked all the wrong colours!!
The only other thing this reminds me of is Overexposed in South Beach, but that has less shimmer.
This looks very pretty! I do that all the time too!
I’ve done the same thing. I had on a teal polish the other day and it had some chips. Luckly my girlfriend found the 3 new glittahs from Sinful Colors. Nail Junkie is teal and I painted in on. Just gorgeous with all that beautiful glitter. I love the shade that turned out with your cleverness! Really really beautiful color on you. I love that on your nails. You’ll really have to franken that because it’s a very becoming color on you. Hope you get some rest sweets.
Wow! I like this flashblub fuschia toned down. Very cool indeed. Who says it’s lazy to layer a polish instead of taking if off? Lol…I call being creative. And look what it accomplished! I hope you get some well needed rest my friend.
looks very purply (that a word?) loving it!! I have done that before, but it has been a long time since I have done it, I change my polish waaay to much!!
It cracks my mom up when she sees a mani I did on my blog and then sees me and says – oh , let me look at that mani you did.
I have to tell her, that was YESTERDAYS mani, I don’t have that one on any more, lol!
They TOTALLY picked all the wrong colours. I didn’t buy one of them. And not because I have all the originals either. So boring.
I’ve got OISB, not sure if I’ve blogged on it or not yet. Must check.
Glad it’s not just me. It doesn’t always turn out so well!
The Sinfuls look so good! I’ve never seen them in real life.
I never thought framkening would appeal to me (lazy again!) but now I’m reconsidering!
Yes…being creative! I prefer that!
Purply is definitely a word!
That’s too funny about your mum. I’ve really had to cut back on changing my colours too often because of the pesky breaks.
