Do you know the thing I love about holographic polishes? Well, actually, there are a lot of things I love about them, but principally that they really are the nail varnish equivalent of a little black dress. Stuck for a nail varnish? Too much choice? Need something you can slap on that will always look good and never disappoint? Well, it’s got to be a holo hasn’t it?
This polish came to me courtesy of Beauty Judy as part of a swap that we did earlier in the year. I know when these varnishes came out in America they caused a huge buzz as potential dupes for the China Glaze holographics that
have been discontinued.
This was possibly the fastest-drying holo polish I have ever used. What you see is two coats over a manicure of something that was work appropriate and bland. The Milani is quite thick though so I reckon a couple of coats over a naked nail would be absolutely fine anyway. It was dry in less than five minutes, with no topcoat whatsoever.
It’s not quite a true linear holo. I think the China Glaze holographics have a smoother consistency. This Milani reminds me more of the Nubar Prism polishes, which were more like holographic shimmer / glitter in a plainer base. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a beautiful varnish, but it lacks the wow-factor that I had with GOSH Holographic or OPI’s Standing Room Only Silver.
I wore this to a wedding back in August and it complemented my (turquoise) outfit perfectly. That’s what I mean about it being like a little black dress. 
Goes with everything, always looks good and can be relied upon for any occasion.
So, thankyou Judy for sending this my way. As far as I am concerned, one can never have enough holographic polishes and this Milani is a very welcome addition to my collection!
