Hi everyone. Just a little post to let you know what’s new in the world of Just Nice Things.
I’ve been kept pretty busy with the arrival of our kitten (see the post below for some photos) and I’m really loving all the Autumn collections that are out now, and the impending Holiday collections. I’m hearing things about a new Nars trio eyeshadow that sounds amazing (it’s called Arabian Nights apparently) and I’ll have some more OPI Muppet swatches for you imminently as well. Exciting times! I’m also preparing a new post on Nars blushers and also an epic illustrated glossary about nail polish finishes and types. I’m also getting tempted to do some huuuuuge posts with swatches of all my nail polishes that I own by certain brands. Oh, and there’s the Quickdrying Topcoat Comparison Post Part Two that is also in the works…. no wonder I’m not sleeping at the moment!
Also, Sheenie is coming to stay with me this weekend so I’m really looking forward to having a massive old gossip, a nice meal out, and some of those legendary cupcakes! We’ll also be plotting a reader giveaway as it is high time we sorted that out for you.
I have a huge backlog of daily nail posts that are scheduled from now right the way to May 2012. OK, they need some tweaking, but the bones are there. So, for those of you who have been missing my nail of the day updates and swatches, rest assured I’m still as much of a nail fanatic as I ever was, and that there are some really lovely things in store for you. I’d also like to extend a HUGE thankyou to loyal reader Andrea who was kind enough to send me the most fantastic box of polishes the other day. Much appreciated and will certainly keep me busy for a while!
Running this blog takes a lot of hard work and energy. I want to thankyou all for reading and apologise for not always being diligent in responding to comments but I am doing my best! We are really open to reader requests as well so if there’s anything you’d like to see reviewed / compared here then please just leave us a request in the comments section and if it is in our respective stashes then we’re happy to oblige!
What else is new? We were thrilled to be included in Grazia’s Beauty Blog Love roundup this week (click here to take a look), and while you’re there, take a look at some of the other beauty features on the site at the moment: How To Care For Long Hair and also some information on new wonder-serum Nanoblur, which Sheenie is also in the process of reviewing here.
Now, as you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. You may have read my post about the Estee Lauder launch event that I went to a couple of weeks ago. Well, the online platform that we were told about has now been launched. Themed: “Shine A Light on Breast Cancer,” the effort will centre around a global application that will be live on the Campaign’s dedicated Facebook page (BCA Campaign). The Facebook application builds upon The BCA Campaign’s Global Landmark Illuminations Initiative, which began in 2000 and through which, more than 200 prominent landmarks are lit in bright pink lights as symbols of hope and empowerment each year. The Facebook application also invites audiences to engage in a global dialogue about breast cancer by sharing messages of hope and inspiration. As millions of women and men around the world join together through their digital messages, a global map will begin to virtually illuminate the world pink. Visit the Facebook link here to read the messages of hope and support, add your own, or see what else you can do to help the world turn pink.
That’s all for now – remember, leave your review requests or any other feedback in the comments below!
Helen
I’m so glad that the polishes arrived safely with you, I could barely fit them into that little (stolen from work) box! I’m sure more will be heading your way eventually.
I hope you and Sheenie have a lovely weekend together, I really want to try some of her famous cakes one day! x
Holy cow, what I wouldn’t give to have posts scheduled that far in advance!!! You are incredibly amazing to do that! Also, thank you so much for doing it, because I really enjoy reading your posts.
