After I did my purple comparisons, I decided gunmetal grey would also be in order. Don’t worry, there is only one hand’s worth of these! I adore this colour, and at the height of my collecting (ie pre-engagement) I started to lose track of what I had that was similar. As is blatantly obvious here.
Whoops – I put these the wrong way round so unfortunately they don’t correspond to the nails above. Sorry.
In terms of application, the Zoya and the Illamasqua were far and away the best. Fast drying, one coat wonders. You know I’m not a huge fan of China Glaze Awaken, but I do have a huge soft spot for OPI’s Brand New Skates. You’ll be getting the rest of these shades in full now we’re getting closer to winter.
I also want to do a post comparing black polishes with silver shimmer. Believe me, I have one or two of those as well!
Silvery greys I don’t like. But the 2010 Chanel grey (Particuliere) – now that looks lovely. Can you hunt for dupes for that, please?
I like the colour of the OPI one….and I agree with Jen…Chanel have really upped their ante with this year’s colours in my opinion! I love Chanel make up but I only own a couple of their enamels as they are quite run of the mill, (Chanel would say “classic”) but loving Trapeze and Kaleidoscope both greys.
Been meaning to ask you -where do you recommend buying Zoya polishes online? xxx
I love Brand New Skates, it’s not your standard grey/silver as it has green and red shimmer in some lights, it’s gorgeous! Another favourite of mine is Essie’s Over The Top, I’d definitely recommend that if you don’t have it.
Love those shades on you. I have the Zoya and the China Glaze. Probably a few more in other brands. I haven’t worn this shade yet. I also have many black with sparkles in them. It’s awful how I can’t stop buying them. I just think they all look a little different. I hope they are.

I only have a couple of Chanels and I’m not overly impressed with how goopy and thick they are.
I’ve got all of mine from All Polished Up on eBay. The link is on the right and her prices and service are excellent.
I don’t have OTT but I’ve seen it on a few other blogs and loved it. I can’t buy any more polish at the moment though or I’d ever be able to pay for my wedding!
Lucy, me too. And inevitably they are slightly different although sadly only a polish addict would be able to tell!
