Something a little bit different today. For some reason this makes me think of teenagers and little girls – it’s not really the most grown-up manicure.
I think posting something every other day is making me get even further behind the times than I should be, for Bright Passion was released last Christmas-time. I’m showing it to you today though as it’s kind of fireworky and sparklery (two words that really do not exist) and being as its Guy Fawkes Day, it seemed appropriate. Any way. I know that bar glitter isn’t really everyone’s cup of tea. I own a Barry M one and I have to be honest, I rarely reach for it. If I am going to do some kind of layering topcoat, it will usually be a glitter or flakie. However, as far as bar glitters go, this is probably the best one I have seen.
The strands are suspended in a black jelly. This base is not dark enough to build to any kind of opacity on its own – this needs to be used as a topcoat. This is over Ruby & Millie’s Neutral.
Considering that GOSH brushes are quite stubby, I had no problem at all with the placement and application of the strands. I think you’re meant to have a kind of haphazard effect and so there’s no point being all particular about it. Drying time was fine as well.
The good thing about this polish is that the strands are made of holographic goodness! Not just your average silver and random colours but actual holo. I don’t know how GOSH did this but I am not complaining! The overall effect is marvellous – no matter how you turn your hand, it flashes all different types of sparkle. It has a predominantly blue and orange bent, as you can see from the photos, but the rest of the spectrum is in there as well. Lovely.
