Happy new year! How quickly did 2015 whizz by? If you’re reading this, thank you for sticking by. I feel like I’m drowning amongst the sea of blogs out there (What am I talking about?! It’s a bloody ocean) but hey, this will be my SEVENTH year of Just Nice Things so I can’t be rid of that easily.
So what do I plan to do in 2016? Is there anything different I will do? Do I plan to experiment more or introduce something new? No. I will carry on doing what I always have for the past six years. I blog with my heart and soul and all the content I publish is with sheer love.
I’m not going to jazz things up, nor will I start doing flat-lay photography or drop in some poncey props in my pictures. There may be weeks where there will be a different post every day and there will be weeks when I don’t post at all and I am happy with that.
One thing I have already started to do more of is YouTube, which I am finding a lot fun. I used to shoot and edit videos in school and I have a media background so the concept is not foreign to me – I just chose writing over broadcasting at university. It is highly demanding and time-consuming so I’m not banking on uploading videos twice a week but in terms of going forward, I will be creating entertaining content and if no one but my mum and Leanne watches them, then that’s absolutely fine.
2015, you have been a wonderful year (except for the bastard who killed my cat – I hope karma gets you)…2016 had better be bloody marvellous too. Happy new year, everyone!
