Another day, another earworm! Today it appears to be “ghetto superstar, that is what you are…” or to be more correct, I suppose, Dolly Parton’s “Islands In The Stream”. As an aside, I saw Dolly Parton in concert a few years ago. Good grief, she is one talented lady – it was a fantastic show. I’m a 
huge fan.
After that rather random aside, I have a very special nail varnish to show you today. I wasn’t joking when I said I had a long queue of untrieds. This piece of loveliness was given to me last December as a Christmas present by the lovely Charlotte of Lipglossiping fame.
I don’t have an Asda anywhere near me, which is a crying shame. Although I’m not a fan of the arse-slapping adverts, I have been hanging my head in sadness as I watched blogger after blogger review the George polishes that are exclusive to Asda, that I’d
never been able to get my mitts on.
And now I’ve tried one, it’s almost worse. I think this is one of the best polishes I’ve ever used in terms of formula. This was two coats and it dried wonderfully fast with no dragging or bald spots. Awesome. The bottle is small, admittedly, but the brush gave me no problems whatsoever. In fact, my nails practically painted themselves.
I love these olive/gold shades. I am aware that they aren’t to everyone’s cup of tea, and are perhaps not the most work appropriate of colours, but I love them. I can’t really get on board with bright or forest greens, but this type of gold green just ticks the boxes for me. Maybe because khaki gold eyeshadows are also 
my favourite colours for makep. Lovely.
So, thankyou Charlotte for being so kind as to gift this to me. I am extremely grateful. See, nail varnish – the Christmas gift that keeps on giving!

Absolutely love these George polishes but am annoyed my nearest Asda doesn’t stock them but something else that’s inferior. Which Asdas do? If it’s the extremely large stores, then my nearest is 10 miles away.
Helen, I am one of those you mention who is not a big fan of the olive/gold shades but I have to say that I might like this one! It helps that your nails look gorgeous no matter what. 😉 I have found it continually interesting coming here and seeing the brands that you have available in the UK that we don’t have here in the states. Makes it very interesting (and sometimes frustrating when I see a great color I can’t get!). BTW, did you buy any nail polishes while you were here in the states on your honeymoon?

Oh and Dolly rocks. I have never seen her in concert, but 9 to 5 was one of my fav movies as a kid, I just love her!
That is one beautiful polish. I love anything with a gold shimmer in it. Especially olive! My favorite shade of green. It’s also my favorite shade to wear for eye shadow. Love it!!! The polish looks fantastic on you. I’ve never heard of this brand.
Argh, it seems to be discontinued now!
