*drum roll* Ladies, it’s time for the next instalment in the Foundation Series and have I got a special one for you.
Zelens, a favourite skincare specialist brand of mine, has ventured further into the world of cosmetic beauty with a make-up range. It’s pretty exciting because if the skincare is anything to go by (and it’s bang tidy from what I’ve tried so far), it’s highly likely the make-up will be carefully intertwined with it.
Given the self-explanatory name of Age Control Foundation*, it can be forgiven for only having five shades at the medium to light end of the spectrum. I say ‘forgiven’ because this is a precious new line and it is probably wise to dip a toe in the market than jump head first. So as you can guess, I really love this! At £65 for a 30ml bottle it is an extravagant purchase but unlike the majority of high-end foundations on the market, Zelens is more of a specialist as it partners two things – skincare and make-up, which if you think about it, go hand-in-hand.
I know it’s silly money to some but for women who are no longer in their 20s (cough!), this is not full of empty promises. It covers up fine lines and really gives you the appearance of flawless looking skin but it also feels healthy to wear. You know how conventional foundations can sometimes batter your pores and make your complexion look dull? Not this one…your face feels fresh and my word, is the scent lush. A subtle botanical smell that isn’t overpowering in the slightest. I don’t know what magical potion Dr Marko Lens has dropped into this, I just hope he never runs out of it. I’m a perfect match in Tan by the way, which is the darkest shade available.
Look how my face glows! And I don’t think it’s just the sheer happiness of harassing my cat from his nap.
