Fenty Beauty: Eaze Drop Blurring Skin Tint

Read Time:2 Minute, 43 Second

Well, it’s been over three years since I blogged about a Fenty Beauty foundation. Some might say it’s been over three years since I blogged and they’d be absolutely right. I mean, it feels like it was that long ago. What can I say? Life gets in the way, work consumes me and then we’ve had a year of lockdown madness with Covid-19. Sometimes I wonder if it’s worth writing a blog post when we are consuming other social media platforms for beauty (myself included). Well, here we are…a blog post on Fenty Beauty’s newest product and I felt compelled to write about it.

This launched online last week (I believe) and Boots had the best deal on with 15% off (normally this retails for £25). I was actually on the look-out for a light base ahead of the impending summer so this has worked out well. (Thank goodness my skin has recovered from maskne or I would not be writing this review.)

Figuring out my true match was a nightmare when using the Pro Filt’r spectrum of shades and the Fenty Beauty’s Shade Beauty. I ended up watching several YouTube videos and searching for blog posts for the recommended match. You see, when I was matched with Pro Filt’r at Harvey Nichols in 2017, I was told 250 was my match, which is LIGHT but it seemed to work (as you can see from the photos in the original post). I am going to put that down to me being very pale when I was matched in the winter.

Any way! According to the good old MAC NC42 foundation guideline, I should actually be 310 or 330 in Pro Filt’r (either of which I have tried). After umming and ahhing, I took a gamble and bought shade 12 in Eaze Drop. Both 310 and 330 are described as having “warm golden undertones”. Gee, thanks – that makes it so easy to decide (!)

I tore the box open on the day I got the skin tint and applied a drop on either cheek, on the forehead and chin, and buffed it out with a brush. And that was all I needed for a medium coverage. I did need concealer to hide blemishes but other than that, this product offers amazing coverage. However, like a lot of foundations for my skin tone this is quite yellow looking in natural light. I don’t know why cosmetic brands struggle to get a true match for this (common) skin tone. We don’t have jaundice so stop trying to recreate that look, please.

Right. Shade 12 is a gamble that paid off because it is a really good match. Come evening time it looked superb, giving me a natural appearance. If we get another good summer this year then a tan will help enhance the appearance of the skin tint and give me the much needed golden glow that will make me look like a goddess. Best of all? It doesn’t make my skin look cakey, is light-weight and my skin can breathe. It also minimises the way my pores look. Rihanna, gurl! Take a bow.

Eaze Drop retails for £25 and comes in a 32ml squeezy and travel friendly bottle. Available from Boots.
