American readers might be surprised to know that we don’t really go in for all things Hallowe’en in the UK. In actual fact, you’re more likely to find us cowering at home with the lights off, hoping that nobody comes to the door. Terrible, isn’t it?
Anyway, here’s a pretty little Hallowe’en number for you. Hocus Pocus was released a year or so ago as part of a Color Club collection of miniature themed polishes for this time of year. It came along with an orange, a gorgeous vampy purple and a jet glossy black, all of which I have yet to review. Oh and some spooky nail decals with ghosts and bats! The set was sent to me about this time last year, as part of a swap I did with Scrangie. Quite fitting really, seeing as Scrangie is one of the biggest Hallowe’en fanatics I know!
Thankyou!
Hocus Pocus is a thing of beauty indeed. Reminds me of the sparks that flyout of wands in the old Disney films. I’ve layered it over a nude-ish shade here (I think it was OPI Steady As She Rose) as I wanted to see the glitter in all its glory. I do plan to wear this again over black, or the purple from the set though.
Isn’t it pretty? I like it over the pink base actually. It contains tons and tons of teeny tiny pieces of glitter of all the delicate shades of the rainbow. Lots of silver, yellow, blue, pink and green. It’s super sparkly and really different to any of the other glitters I have in my collection. Alone it would not build, but then again this is a mini polish so I don’t see the sense in slapping coat after coat of this on, using it all up, when you can layer it over a co-ordinating shade.
Also, this is my first experience of Color Club mini polishes and I have to say that I am impressed.
I’m a massive Color Club fan anyway and the mini size did not let me down. It applied really well and for a while I forgot I was using a miniature polish. Praise indeed!
So what do you think? Fancy a bit of Hocus Pocus? And do you have any Hallowe’en traditions (that are more sociable than sitting in the dark) that you’d like to share?
Helen
Wow – it looks much nicer over the pale pink base than it does on its own in some of the other pictures I’ve seen!
i like it SO much layered over that nude shade 😀
Very pretty! Definitely looks wonderful over the pink base. I also like Color Club minis. They’re easy to use. I hate the OPI minis. They’re one giant pain in the ass to use. I have a hard time with holding the brush handle.
