What with all the recent hype surrounding Chanel’s new Mimosa polish, you’d be forgiven for thinking that nobody had ever made a yellow nail varnish before. Of course, we know that that isn’t true as yellows have been around for a long time now, but perhaps Chanel endorsing a yellow means 
that it’s suddenly more trendy and socially acceptable to wear one?
Almost Famous is from Color Club’s Poptastic collection that came out around this time last year. As someone who doesn’t really “do” brights or neons, I am always pleasantly surprised by this collection and have been drawn to it regularly of late.
Almost Famous is a bright and in your face sunshine yellow creme. This applied surprisingly well for a yellow. As ever, the first coat was a streaky old mess, the second was patchy and annoying but then suddenly by the third, it all came together.
I think if you’re going to wear yellow, you may as well go the whole hog and wear a proper yellow like this. Weirdly flattering for my skintone, I liked wearing this. Although I was extremely self conscious. It’s still not the most socially acceptable 
shade, despite what Chanel say. Part of me just wanted to Konad black art-deco designs all over this as well.

I tried a 17 yellow last summer at the height of the pastel craze. I love the colour, but the polish itself went on like a very low quality emulsion paint. Luckily nails are easier to strip than walls…
I love the idea of yellow polish. I’ve never yet though found one that I liked AND had a good formula. I’ve got OPI Fiercely Fiona but I daren’t open it because I am pretty sure it will be a mess…
I got to agree that even though chanel are trying to make yellow acceptable I’m still not totally convinced. This shade does look nice on you though so maybe I should brave it and find myself a yellow to try!
I like yellow however, personally, I think you need to be very tanned, very smooth and under 18 to work it…..being none of these I’m staying well away!
I wasn’t quite sure, but then I wore Yellow by Barry M and got a bazillion compliments so the flattery factor won me over! Pretty color!
I love yellow polish. There’s a yellow for everyone. It’s just trial and error to find the right shade. I guess there are people who live and breathe by what Chanel forecasts. I wear what I like and makes me feel good. Your yellow looks fantastic on you.
I love this eye-popping colour. I’ve just bought a top in this exact shade and this would go perfectly with it.
OK, I’ve just ordered one online plus another bright shade from the same collection. Can’t wait!
