This bright frog-like green is Ciaté Paint Pot’s Mojito – ain’t quite the shade of green of a real Mojito, is it?
After I’d recovered from the initial shock of clapping eyes on such a eye-watering colour, I went about my usual business of applying two coats.
As Helen has mentioned in her blogs of Ciaté Paint Pots, their stuff is extremely thick and skill is required in applying their nail enamels quickly and effortlessly. Let’s just say I’m struggling to cope with Ciaté’s speed at which it sets once brush touches the surface of the nails and this results in air bubbles forming after it has dried, which occurred with Mojito. I also noticed the thick formula separated into two liquids so rigorous shaking is required to mix the two back.
For the price tag these bottles retail at, I expect application to be easy but with its gloopy texture, this product creates some hassle. Ciaté dries fast but one wrong brush stroke and you’re buggered in achieving a shiny and smooth look on your talons. I’m also not bowled over by this neon lime green shade. It’s quite scary actually and I personally don’t think it suits my skin tone.
I took the first picture under natural light and the bottle under flash so there isn’t a great deal of difference in what the colour appears as. What Barry M does for neon and pastel colours, Ciaté misses with Mojito. A miss for me, I’m afraid!
Ciaté is available from Ciate, Powder Rooms, HQ Hair and ASOS, and retails at £9.00 a bottle.
Woah! That is one radioactive green! Good for 80s themed parties, perhaps not for everyday wear!
Oh and sometimes shaking a polish can create air bubbles, in which case this one sounds like a bit of a pain if it separates in the bottle. Hmm.
You said the right word – radioactive!
Kermit fingers!!! Not for me either, I’m afraid 😉
Kermit! Even better – and funnier!
I am actually quite liking that one
Sheenie you can wear this with your fingerless gloves. Happy ’80’s. I think it looks quite pretty on you.
