Burberry. A name that epitomises sophistication and elegance is quickly gaining ground in beauty and I couldn’t be happier. There’s just something about Burberry beauty that strikes the right chord and considering the brand is still young in comparison to its luxe counterparts, it’s taking everything in its stride…
Out on 1st November Burberry Kisses Sheer* is the latest addition to the Kisses collective of lipsticks featuring 28 balm-like shades and I have three to share with you: Orchid Pink, Tea Rose and Hydrangea.
With a hydrating formula, the new sheer lipstick has been described by Burberry as giving a ‘veil of dewy colour’ and is infused with a blend of rosehip, tea and lavender to keep lips wonderfully pampered. They’re perfect for those who want a hint of colour with the feeling of a lip balm and are packaged beautifully in Burberry’s uniquely designed magnetic cases bearing the famous Burberry plaid.
Noticeably narrower in bullet size and without the Burberry plaid imprint on it, a Burberry Kisses Sheer lipstick glides on smoothly, hugging the lips gently. Often I’ve found sheer lipsticks tend to veer too much on the sheer side and can feel and look greasy. Burberry’s gel-like texture delivers a subtle shimmery tint with the comfort of cashmere, thus making it a must-have for the winter lip wardrobe.
These particular shades are the furthest I would venture towards neutrals. Anything lighter just would not compliment my skin tone. Tea Rose is my favourite of the three with the rosy pink Hydrangea a close second so I should get plenty of wears out of these two. Orchid Pink is a shade I’d pair with dark, smokey eyes. On its own this colour is just draining on me.
As I mentioned, there are a staggering 28 shades on offer so every taste is catered for. I may just mosey over to the darker shades the next time I’m at a Burberry counter.
Burberry Kisses Sheer will be priced at £25 and available on uk-burberry.com, Burberry Beauty Box in Covent Garden and selected Burberry stores and retailers.
