The Body Shop’s recently released a collection of eyeshadow palettes under the title Down to Earth. Judging by the palette I’ve tried, it’s quite a treat to work with.
Inspired by the planet’s richest natural colours and enriched with babassu and sesame oils, the eyeshadows (free from petrolatum, mineral oil and are 100% vegan and suitable for sensitive eyes) are super smooth to apply and easy to blend with no fall-out and the soft, buttery shades are wonderfully pigmented. Exactly how all eyeshadows should be, right?
There is one palette and five different quads in total. I’ve sampled one of the quads (03)*, a trio of greys with a dusky light pink. Actually one of them is a stunning pewter.
I’ve grown very fond of grey eyeshadows as they compliment brown eyes superbly and this palette is far from disappointing although I prefer to still use an eyeshadow primer despite the claims the formula prevents creasing. I’d feel naked without it.
The big mama is the eight shaded palette which is a collective of warm and earthy tones for £22. The quads are £15 each so a pretty decent price point. Surprisingly compact packaging, appearances are deceiving from the outside as once you flip a quad open, the eyeshadows are generously sized. I haven’t seen the big palette but I am guessing it’s the equivalent of two quads stuck together. Secure and robust yet lightweight at the same time, you could carry this in your handbag or make-up bag without fear it would get knocked about and broken. Who knows how much summer we have left but these bad boys are getting me in the mood for autumn.
