20 Questions with Krasey Beauty

I am excited about today’s 20 Questions as it features one of my favourite bloggers, Adina from Krasey Beauty. I first got to know Adina a little better through the wonderful medium of Twitter, and quickly wished that I had a trip to New York in the pipeline so that we could go shopping together! I love all things New York and her blog gives us a little taste of what it’s like to live there. Plus excellent product reviews and make-uppy things. Check her out here!

1) Why did you start your blog?
To share with my readers all of the wonderful beauty experiences I have, living in New York City and all.

2) How long have you been blogging for?
Over two years, counting the time I wrote for Specktra as the roving reporter, and as editor of my own site, Krasey Beauty.

3) What do you enjoy most about blogging?
That I have found others out there who genuinely love beauty as much as I do.

4) What frustrates you most about blogging?
That I can’t do more of it. Can we have more hours in the day, pretty please?

5) How much time a week do you spend on your blog / reading other people’s blogs?
50 hours! More time than I spend on my real job!

6) What advice do you have for aspiring beauty bloggers?
Do it for the love of beauty, and not for the fame or fortune. If you are passionate and persistent, everything will come in time.

7) What other hobbies/interests do you have?
I love to read romantic historical novels, which my boyfriend has callously pegged as ‘smut books’. Other that that, I love fashion, technology, and geeky gadgets.

8 ) How many bottles of nail varnish do you own?
Probably one bottle for every hair on my head. I assure you, that is quite a large number.

9) Do you set yourself a shopping budget, or do you purchase on an as-and-when basis?
What’s a budget?

10) What is your favourite make-up brand and why?
Such a difficult question! Probably Make Up For Ever, for the quality of the pigments used in all of the products. I love COLOR, and M.U.F.E brings that in abundance. Illamasqua is a close second.

11) Do you ever leave the house without wearing make-up?
Never! Ah, who am I kidding. I would say I go nekkid-faced 20% of the time.

12) What is your favourite beauty product and why?
Eye shadow, especially the colorful kinds. I love adorning my lids with unexpected color combinations, inspired by nature.

13) What is your favourite nail varnish of all time? (yep, only one!)
Would it be cheating if I said it was my namesake? The purple/green/silver polychromatic effect of Zoya’s Adina sets my heart aflutter every time that I wear it.

14) Tell us about the best holiday you’ve ever been on.
A trip to Mexico, in a beautiful all inclusive resort. I felt like the queen of the world, literally.

15) What would be your ideal day off?
I’d like an attractive male to escort me down fifth avenue, purchasing everything my wandering eyes desire. Since that isn’t possible, I suppose that a day spent exploring NYC with my boyfriend would be rather fun too.

16) What is your favourite TV show?
30 Rock, Scrubs, Good Eats. Anything funny, goofy or witty, really.

17) What music do you enjoy listening to?
Darren Hayes, Lady Gaga, Russian Pop.

18) What is your favourite food?
I’d like to say it’s air, but that wouldn’t do. Sushi, definitely. Frozen Yogurt comes in a close second.

19) Where would you most like to visit in the world? (money no object)
I find it so difficult to narrow it down to only one place. Can I just say the continent of Europe? 🙂

I am a beauty addict, shhhh!
