20 Questions featuring Cherry Sue

Read Time:4 Minute, 24 Second

Today’s blogger is the fantastic Cherry Sue. She is one of the brightest and cheeriest people that I’ve recently interacted with, and I really like her positive attitude. Lovely beauty reviews, nail art, and all brought to you with a big sense of humour. Follow her here and now!

1)         Why did you start your blog?

I started the blog as an outlet for all of the thoughts that randomly fill my head and to make use of my beauty obsession. Also because the blogging community I know are great girls, its a way to keep in touch.

            2)         How long have you been blogging for?

Not very long at all. I started in June of this year but love it so far.

            3)         What do you enjoy most about blogging?

I love sharing opinions and realising that my crazy thoughts are a lot of people’s crazy thoughts. Makes my day to get great comments. Very cathartic.

            4)         What frustrates you most about blogging?

Probably that I don’t have as much time to focus on it as I’d like. I think you need to update regularly but I’d rather post quality rather than quantity.

            5)         How much time a week do you spend on your blog / reading other people’s blogs?

I’m online every night for approx 3 hours, but that’s blogs & twitter. Also my full time job has a lull in the summer so I can work on posts through the day.

            6)         What advice do you have for aspiring beauty bloggers?

Just to dive right in, write about what you love and love writing it. The blogging community, that I know, are so open, welcoming and encouraging so there’s nothing to fear.

            7)         What other hobbies/interests do you have?

I’m a big reader and movie goer. Love any form of live entertainment, gigs, comedy, theatre but my big love is travel. I’m away at least once a month. Even if it’s in Ireland.

8 )        How many bottles of nail varnish do you own?

What a cruel question! I hate to count because that number echoes in my ears as I’m contemplating another purchase. Upward of 150 lets say *shame*

            9)         Do you set yourself a shopping budget, or do you purchase on an as-and-when basis?

Absolutely I set a budget, it’s not often I stick to that budget though. I go through phases. Sales are the Kryptonite of spending bans.
            10)      What is your favourite make-up brand, and why?

It has to be Estee Lauder, because the quality of their products speak for themselves, I have yet to be disappointed. You can trust that your money is well spent, even if you feel like you’re part of the twinset & pearls brigade when at the counter

            11)      Do you ever leave the house without wearing make-up?

Rarely, I work on site and in the office from early so have to look presentable. Me sans slap does not equal presentable.

            12)      What is your favourite beauty product and why?

Definitely Kiehl’s Creme de Corps, this product has literally changed my life. I can now wear short sleeved blouses & tops that I dreamt of in my teens.

            13)      What is your favourite nail varnish of all time? (yep, only one!)

Again, so cruel! One one would have to be OPI, the colour choice, limited edition polishes and quality of the polish and application are second to none.
            14)      Tell us about the best holiday you’ve ever been on.

Was in Lanzarote with my boys (then 10 & 11), we were at the port watching the locals dive from the pier into the swell. My eldest had eyes like saucers longing to join them. I whipped off my shorts (swimsuit on underneath) ran past him and dived in – he was less than 10 seconds following me. He still talks about that. Glorious holiday start to finish.
            15)      What would be your ideal day off?

Ideal day off would be an early morning trip to the airport for a day trip to a European city. People watching and sipping espresso in a piazza by noon, heaven.

            16)      What is your favourite TV show?

Its a toss up between Game of Thrones and True Blood, perhaps True Blood for consistency. Sexy, hilarious, scary consistency.

            17)      What music do you enjoy listening to?

I’ve a very eclectic taste in music, get that from my Dad. Anything from Roy Orbison, Air Supply & The Cars to Adele, Roisin Murphy and pop or dance charts. I love up and comings too and go to a lot of new bands’ gigs. Anything goes, apart from jazz, never jazz.

18)      What is your favourite food?

Greek, hands down.

            19)      Where would you most like to visit in the world? (money no object).

I would love a trip around New Zealand, the scenery of Lord of the Rings had me longing to go.

            20)      Tell us a secret…

I wrote a poem for my firstborn that was published in a Parenting in the 90’s book (I was 18). I have no recollection of writing that poem 🙂
