Zoya Kristi - Just Nice Things

Zoya Kristi

Read Time:1 Minute, 19 Second

Good morning, everyone. Let me introduce you to Kristi. This was from Zoya’s Wicked & Wonderful collection of 2010, which I actually managed to win by successfully predicting the winner of that year’s football World Cup on Twitter. Hilarious, right? I can’t even remember who won the tournament, let alone figure out how I predicted the winner.

This is a pretty staple red creme. I seem to be featuring a lot of reds on here at the moment – not sure why that is, I’m just doing the posts in the order that I took the photos. I must have been swatching lots of reds on the day that I wore Kristi as it appears that my cuticles are a strange shade of pink.

Oh well, all things aside, this is a rather lovely polish. As you can see, it is glossy and vibrant and a really lovely colour for Spring. I do recall struggling with this one in terms of opacity (yet again, it is an ongoing saga with me and reds) but my camera didn’t pick up on the VNL. Trust me though, it’s there.

Having said that, Kristi applied beautifully. I really do adore Zoya’s application – the brush and consistency of the polish just seems to agree with me. I still have this in my collection as I find the colour to be super flattering but I have generally started to wear this one on my toes as it is just a little bit too thin to wear as the full manicure on my pesky white tips and dark nail line sadly.

I love Zoya’s polish application, it’s one of the only brands that I have no problem with. I really do love this colour.

Great red. Pity the coverage isn’t so good.

Wow, what a gorgeous bright red! Unfortunately, as much as I love Zoya colours, they just don’t last on me. I can’t get past a day without serious tip wear or a few chips.

Forgot to say, as you’ve mentioned a few times recently about VNL with red polishes, do you have any Illamasqua ones? Their reds are really nice and opaque, no lines with those.

    Hi Andrea,

I have a couple of Illamasqua reds – the only one that really works for me in terms of opacity is Throb, from the 2011 Valentine’s collection. I’ve got a big post about Illamasqua polishes coming up actually.
