Urban Decay Spectrum Eyeshadow Palette

Urban Decay: Spectrum Eyeshadow Palette

Read Time:2 Minute, 7 Second

Yesterday I mentioned purchasing Urban Decay’s latest eyeshadow palette, Spectrum. It’s one of two reasons why I’m crushing on their colour eyeshadows this season, having also bagged Vice 4. I actually think Spectrum is more exciting mostly because the top two rows of peacock-esque blues and greens are a thrill.

This limited edition collective has been released in time for the holiday festive season, containing 15 rainbow shades, a few of which are brand new with some cult favourites the original Book of Shadows, The Vice Palette and Vice 2.

It’s packaged in a beautiful square case with a smoky grey, faceted “UD” jewel and laser-cut, filigreed edges. Inside is a large detachable mirror and once you’re done with the palette, you can lift the tray of shadows and store some trinkets in velvet-lined box.

All in metallic finish, each eyeshadow comes packed with Urban Decay’s unique our Pigment Infusion System™, which gives the shadows their velvety texture, rich colour, staying power and capability of blending seamlessly.

From top to bottom, left to right you get:

  • Protest (golden forest green shimmer)
  • Junkie (teal green shimmer with micro-glitter)
  • Deep End (bright teal shimmer)
  • Madness (bright metallic blue shimmer with blue micro-glitter)
  • Evidence (deep navy blue shimmer)
  • Prank (deep navy matte with turquoise floating pearl)
  • Omen (bright metallic purple with blue shift)
  • Flashback (bright deep purple wirth pink micro-glitter) **NEW
  • Voodoo (metallic purple shimmer with iridescent purple micro-glitter)
  • Flatline (metallic pale pink) **NEW
  • Bordello (pale mauve shimmer with gold micro-glitter)
  • Backlash (bright pink with orange floating pearl) *NEW
  • Daybreak (soft bronze with silver micro-glitter) **NEW
  • Burn (medium golden brown shimmer with micro-glitter) **NEW
  • West (deep metallic brown shimmer)

Besotted with the top two rows, I used a few of these colours over Urban Decay’s Primer Potion and NYX’s Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk for the look below. Not only do the shadows remain creaseless, the vibrancy of the colours really pop with the Jumbo Eye Pencil creating a neutral canvas.

I used Bordello in the inner corners and piled on Protest on the lids with Deep End and Prank in the outer corners for a gradient effect.

If you crave a splash of colour on your eyelids, you will be all over Spectrum. It is priced at £35 and is exclusive to Debenhams. You may be able to pick it up from Urban Decay online though when I last checked, it was out of stock.

Oh wow have to say i have never bought a pallete (aside from ones with three or four colours) but this is lovely. Really nice colours and probably only the pink that i wouldn’t use.

If he’s passing through Heathrow Terminal 5, there’s an UD counter in World Duty Free…

Yay i finAlly got this via ebay. Now as until hubby got me vice 4 and i got his i have never had a palette with. Ore than four shades lol.
I thought i will look up some tutorials for some inspiration on colour combinations. Hahaha given i don’t have an art degree i won’t be copying the looks. I don’t have eight hours a day free to brush on 6-8 colours from the palettes
Who knew make up could be so difficult!

Oh my God, Britny! Well done on snagging that. It is overwhelming with so many colours to choose from. I’m glad it’s not just me who panics! Have fun with the Spectrum palette. Merry Christmas! xx

I think i will stick to using 2 or 3 colours at a time lol and hell i only own 6 make up brushes. Wouldn’t know what to do with the other fifteen shadow brushes they were all using

    Have a great Christmas:)
