Read Time:3 Minute, 36 Second

WARNING 1: This post contains a picture of a hairy leg.
WARNING 2: It’s MY leg.

Recently I told you about Veet’s latest arrival to the hair removal party – their EasyWax™ Roll-On Kit.  I then waited a little longer for the hairs on my legs to grow so I could test the product out and report back with my first-hand knowledge.  As promised (and in the name of honest and fair blogging), here is how I got on.

I unpacked the kit and for a minute or two, panicked at how I would slot it altogether because the gadgets appeared to have so many parts.  Well, I did it and without reading the instructions (naturally).  Of course I do not advise this.  It’s just I like to live life on the edge.  Sort of.

Setting up the gadget couldn’t be easier.  Slot the wax re-fill into the hand-held device, plug the cable into it and switch on at the mains, then stick it into the docking station and wait for 20 minutes for the unit to charge up and for the wax to be ready for use.

I got distracted and left the unit on for about 45 minutes but this did not overheat the wax since the device has been designed to stay at an optimum temperature (unless you unplug it whilst using it, in which case the wax quickly solidifies).  This is fantastic!  Those microwaveable waxes were easy so overheat and consequently burn the skin, but there is no danger of this problem with the roll-on – it’s set to  remain consistent at the perfect temperature, and be kinder to your skin.

With one eye on the X-Factor, I set to work on my legs.  The roll-on is light and easy to hold, but what impressed me was how effortless it was to apply the wax – it rolled onto the skin smoothly and thinly, the perfect consistency and amount needed for hair removal without excess wax dripping off.

The success to removing hair is administering the wax correctly.  Professionals know exactly how to do this with but for the rest of us, it’s all too easy to apply too much or unevenly.  This results in patchy work and adds more time onto the whole process.  Then you get angry and frustrated, and give up before finishing the job with a razor blade.

(By the way, I figured if Cosmetic Candy has the metaphorical balls to post a picture of her hairy leg, in sisterly solidarity I should do the same.)

So as you can see below, this is what a layer of Veet’s wax looks like straight off the roller.

Holding the skin taught, I applied the disposable strip included, ripped it off in one, fast move and boom! Perfect clean sweep!  It even removed the shorter hairs.

The wax doesn’t really smell of anything and the roll-on kit isn’t messy to use – in fact, I’ve not experienced a neater and cleaner warm wax hair removal DIY style.  The strips are brilliant too – you can re-use the same strip over half a leg and achieve a clean finish every time.  There is enough wax in one refill for a full wax on both legs.

I am delighted at how simple and quick the device was to use, and how I managed to achieve hair-free legs with no patchy results and sticky bits.  There was also no allergic reaction or redness.  Painless (for me any way), quick and convenient, I am most certainly going to incorporate this into my hair removal regime.   I had forgotten how smooth waxing leaves my legs as opposed to shaving.  I had also forgotten how cold the temperature is at the moment…

If you’ve never used home waxing or Veet products before, I would suggest you do a patch test first.

Veet EasyWax™ Electrical Roll-On Kit comes with an applicator for arms and legs, and a wax refill for £29.99.  After which all you have to replace with are the refills at £9.99 each – a small roll-on head for the bikini and underarm and the regular refill for legs and arms.  The kit is currently available to buy exclusvely from Boots and will be on general sale in January.

  1. This looks great! Do you know if it’s available in Canada? I would love to try it out, love that it stays at the perfect temperature. The microwavable waxes are such a pain.

  2. Hi sweetie, how are you feeling? Miss you. You are a brave lady showing some hair! Will it kill us to see it, no. Does a really nice job. I have used wax before at home and ow! I just use an Emjoi which has done a great job for me. I don’t have much hair growth anymore. The one thing it doesn’t do is give you that smooth feeling leg.

  3. Hi OPI Addict, I’ll find out from Veet about this. My understanding is it’s being launched in the UK first.

Hey Lucy, I’m not bad – have up and down days. Always feel happy and motivated when I complete a blog post though. I suppose the hairy leg had to be shown at some point – what’s the use in writing a piece about hair removal without a ‘before’ and ‘after’ picture? I’m really pleased with the Veet results – seriously so easy to use!

  4. I might try this…I use home leg waxing a lot as it’s cheaper and though it maybe doesn’t get the exact same result, it’s good enough for me.
I normally use the microwaveable pots but I used to have a nosey parker house rabbit who almost got waxed on a number of occasions, for me they are a bit of a liability!

  5. Simply did not work for me. variety of hair lengths failed to be removed. Its a gimmick that is not as good as manually applying a liberal amount of wax

  6. Hey, great blog! I just got one yesterday and I was wondering if you got any advise or any idea how to clean the applicator after use?

  7. hey, this is brilliant!! i brought it about 1-2 months ago and was soo excited used it that night but my hair wasnt long enough so it was all patchy!! oooooopssss!!!! i have been growing my hair and am going to use it tonight!!! yaaayyy!!! woop woop hope it goes well looks brilliant and was the perfect temperature when i tried it the first time!!! 🙂 xxxxx
