OPI Sand In My Suit

Weird. I think I like this better in photos than I do on me. All day when I was wearing this I kept catching my freaky long ET-like fingers in my peripheral vision and wondering where my nails had gone. But once I got used to it, I really started to like it.

Sand In My Suit, aside from sounding like an altogether unpleasant experience, is from OPI’s South Beach Collection.

This is essentially the nuder, beiger (is “beiger” a word?? It is now!)  cousin of Suzi & The Lifeguard from the same collection. It applies in exactly the same way, sheer after only a couple of coats, and finishing to the same shiny, dense, pearlescent frost.

Sand In My Suit is a nice gold and silver shimmerysandinmysuit4 shade of beige. Sand coloured, if you will.  This is definitely one for the warmer toned complexions out there, whereas Suzi & The Lifeguard was aimed more at the cooler toned.

Application was absolutely brilliant. No dragging, no pooling, no bubbles, no lumps. You might think from the finish of it that it is tricky to apply, but nothing could be further from the truth. Result!

So what do you think? I know (mentioning no names) that some of you will hate this.

But actually I quite like it, and the thought “wedding manicure” actually crossed my mind. Fear not though, I dont sandinmysuit3think this one will make the shortlist.

I don’t want to be thinking “phone home” in all my wedding photos!

  1. Did you guess that this wouldn’t be one for me?! I hope it doesn’t make your wedding shortlist. In fact, I think you should wear something a little bolder on your wedding day!

  2. Dear Lord, don’t wear this ever again! You are a polish-guru – you have to wear something extraordinary on your wedding day!

  3. It’s not one for me either, but I really struggle to like any kind of neutrals, probably due to not finding the right shade – because I think neutrals and nudes can look gorgeous on some people, just not me 😉

  4. See, this is the type of color I wouldn’t pick out for myself, but if someone gave it to me, I’d actually really like! Rob, my husband, has a knack for picking things out that I would NEVER have even seen sitting in front of me on the rack, but that I wind up LOVING!

  5. I saw a couple in that collection that I liked, but I didn’t get any. My bestfriend got Suzi and the Lifeguard, and it’s gorgeous, it looks really nice on her

  6. Nope….its got too much of a yellow tone to it for my liking!

You don’t need to do “demure” for the wedding…what colours are your bridesmaids wearing…or link to your flowers!

  7. I’m just not feeling this one either. I think Liz hit it that it has too much yellow in it. Please don’t wear this for your wedding. A terrific idea to match this to your flowers. I hope to God they won’t be the color of Sand In My Suit!

  8. Very diplomatic, Lisa! I agree – I used to wear nothing but nudes and now for me it’s colour all the way!

  9. You’re lucky having a husband that pickes things out! Mine very much goes along the lines of “whatever you like…” but I know he hates the browns and cremey purples.
