I am about to make a confession – one that left me mortified but now I feel ready to talk about it. I spied this corker of a colour on a small display stand in a department store (that shall remain nameless to protect my embarrassment) as part of OPI’s Miss Universe collection. I was mesmerised by the rich turquoise of it and twisted it in the light to admire the true beauty of it.
Then the worst thing happened – in a split second it slipped out of my hand and smashed on the hard floor surface and when I say ‘smashed’, I mean it actually shattered into smithereens with the liquid splattering on every conceivable object nearby. It even hit a fellow customer’s neck! The customer whinged for sympathy and glared at me (bitch!) but the sales assistants were so nice and told me these things happen. It didn’t compensate for the fact I was so ashamed. I’ve never broken or damaged anything in a shop, and I just waited until they assured me everything was OK before shuffling off quietly, feeling a red arrow pointing above my head for the rest of the day.
So, that’s one weight off my shoulders. Unfortunately it was the only bottle they had and recently re-stocked so I would have to return at a later date for this popular product. I took the easy way out and ordered it off eBay. And here it is…a striking electric blue-turquoise affair with a foil-like effect.
In one coat it’s thick enough to cover though I opted for two coats for extra durability. I don’t think the photo does this colour justice – it’s jaw-droppingly beautiful right before your very eyes. That was certainly evident from the number of people who noticed it on my nails last week. A great thing about Swimsuit…Nailed It is it applies smoothly and dries quickly too. I am aware it’s one of four shades available from this collection and in my humble opinion, it’s the best one. My only grudge is it’s a bitch for staining even with a base coat. Still, it’s a small complaint when it compliments with my gloves so well!

I have actually dropped a bottle of OPI polish (it kind of dominoed off the shelf) in a shop and ruined my jeans. I blame the weighting of the bottle;)

Awh Sheenie! I hate it when I drop something in a shop! Im so clumsy and it happens to me all the time! Esp when Im in the phone/computer shop and the alarm goes off!

Oh man, that sucks. I would have been so embarrassed. Your story made me have a good laugh though. I can picture me in the same situation. Love the polish!
I dropped a bottle of Smirnoff vodka in Tesco once. I was holding onto it by the big blue security thingy and it just slipped right out and smashed all over the floor. Luckily, a checkout girl saw the whole thing and said not to worry about it! I was so embarrassed!

Really pretty shade. I love the foil look. I’ve never smashed a bottle of polish. I would have died! Love the gloves, they’re adorable.
Oh Sheenie, I did the same thing in Sally’s last year. I was rummaging through the reduced OPI’s that had all been thrown into a big box and one slipped out of my hand. It went right up my tights, all over my shoes but left a very pretty pattern on the floor! I was mortified, even though the staff were really nice about it. Luckily it was a bottle I didn’t want!
I love this colour, hopefully my local Sally’s will have it in this week, there are a few I want from the collection.
