Well well. I thought I had all the polishes I wanted from OPI Touring America, until the other day when I popped into my local department store to re-stock up on Nail Envy. And there was the Touring America collection up close. I did manage to get a good look at the collection at the preview event back in April, 
and at the time I remember stating that I Brake For Manicures was “probably the least original of the collection”.
I eat my words. At the time, pressganged against the wall by a gaggle of journalists and bloggers, I didn’t pay this little bottle the attention it probably deserved. OK so it isn’t radically different to a host ofother polishes I have in my collection, but when I clocked the last bottle of it sat there on the OPI display, it called to me.
In the bottle, I Brake for Manicures is a very dusty, taupe toned plum. It looks murky and smokier than the average aubergine creme. It applied perfectly and was opaque and streakless in two coats. Seriously luscious and impressive formula. Super shiny as well. On the nail it dries slightly darker than in the bottle, which is a bit of a shame as it loses someof its smokiness.
It’s a really interesting colour though. Is it brown? Is it purple? I can’t decide. Whilst it might not be everyone’s idea of what a traffic-stopping polish should be like, I really loved wearing this one. Like a new fluffy jumper, it is comfy, effortless and totally signals that winter is on the way.

Such a lovely colour – less harsh than black but very autumn/winter. I can imagine feeling very classy wearing this with a beautiful winter coat *starts imagining*. But like you I probably would have walked past it, so I am glad you showed it! x
This was probably one of my two favourites from the collection. I think I picked up pretty early on that it had a little more unusual color than you would expect when seeing it in the typical dim press party lighting – and I named it brurple. xD I think it’s the perfect fall/winter color! And I actually did a comparison to some “similar” colors I have, and it was far apart from them. 🙂
I really like this colour. I’m yet to purchase any of this collection, Every time I go in my local Sally’s don’t have them, I need to check again this week and add this to my list!
Well , this one is actually the only one from the whole Touring America that tempts me, and it’s quite crazy, because it’s the only one I can’t seem to find anywhere so that I can see it in real: I’ve been to at least 5 shops that sell OPI and it’s nowhere!!
This was my colour of the collection. I’ll soooooo be getting this! x
This looks fabulous on your nails. I’ve seen the collection swatched many times. I thought I was just going to buy the green shade. Kae from thehungryasian.com swatched these recently. I don’t know if it was the lighting, her nails or just the closeup photos but I want most of the collection now.
