I love Done Out in Deco – for me this was the absolute stand-out shade of OPI’s South Beach collection from spring this year.
I wore this over Easter last year and that must be why it makes me so happy – it reminds me of Bank Holidays and chocolate (two really good things).
This has one of the best applications out of all the OPIs I own. Thick, creamy and just the right consistency, it could be opaque in one coat, but I did two to even it all up. It Although I just swatched this one (onAndrea’s request) it was pretty much dry by the time I’d finished taking the photos. I wore this earlier in the year to a three-day industry exhibition at Earls Court and had no
chipping by the end of it.
And I still wasn’t bored of the colour by the fourth day.
I think this would be beautiful with some purple and silver glitter over the top and I think I’ll be trying that out soon.
In terms of duplicates, there aren’t any. It is a gorgeous pastel purple /periwinkle style colour, a million times lighter and bluer than Parlez-Vous OPI or
Metro Chic. Do You Lilac It (which I also have but not blogged about yet) is close-ish but is more of a vivid purple. I really think this would suit any skintone as well.
Much as I love Christmas, I am very much looking forward to wearing this again next Spring. And heck, if I have any readers on the other side of the world (Hi Nixxy!) then it’s coming up to summer there. And you need this one!
*****Don’t forget you have one week left to enter our giveaway*****

Thank you so much Helen! As I suspected, your photos of you wearing this were enough to convince me that I do need it after all! I think I’ll wait until after Christmas, but this is definitely top of my list now. Thanks again.
Its very similar to Little Thief from Leighton Denny….he did a whole range of creme pastels last year which saw me through the summer! Have you tried any LD yet? You’re missing out madam lol
Sure you won’t be surprised to find that I don’t like this at all. Creme and pastel ugh my worst nightmare
Beautiful on you. I had to check if I have this and I do! I’m looking forward to Spring also. I hate cold weather. It’s warm here right now.
Hey there hun,
Just wanted to let you know I’ve tagged you.

That definitely suits your nails. Not sure if it would look anywhere as good on mine though.
Oh dear – I have fuelled the lemming! It is gorgeous though. And you’re welcome – any other requests just lrt me know. I’ve done Nubar Purple Rain now, just need to write it up.
I only have two of his polishes (got a brown creme to do) but I am following him on Twitter!! Too scared to say hello at the moment though.
Nope, not surprised at all. One day you’ll like one of these and then it really will be a cold day in hell.
It’s freezing here – we are well into the winter now. but if i can brnig a bit of spring with some nice polish then so much the better.
Thanks Eliza! I shall take a look now 🙂
I’m not sure if it isnt a bit flat for you – I like the jewel shades on you best 🙂
I love this colour in the bottle and on my platinum blonde, ivory skinned friend Jules this shade looks perfect. But on me ( dark blonde with pink skin tone) the colour looks very unflattering. Jules also looks great in Parlez-vous OPI? a smoky violet which I can’t wear either … maybe one for the Nordic beauties?
[…] there we go. People looking for a cheaper version of OPI’s Done Out In Deco shouldn’t be too disappointed with this. e.l.f. Lilac falls somewhere between the cracks of […]
