Good morning, everyone! It’s Shrove Tuesday! So what could be more appropriate than a nail varnish named after a pancake?
Today I have Crepes Suzi-ette from OPI’s La Collection De France. I’m not entirely sure why I own this one. I really don’t like it. And I ended up having to wear it for three days as part of last year’s topcoat comparison post as I was running out of OPI cremes to use and so this one had to come out and play.
OK, so it’s not hideous, but when I asked the husband what he thought of it, his reponse was “dried blood”. Perhaps not the look Suzi was going for… It’s a reddish brown and a really odd shade. My photos have made this appear slightly redder than it actually is. It reminds me a little bit of Zoya’s Cola from the Wicked & Wonderful collection of last Autumn – also a shade I am putting off wearing!
It doesn’t look bad on my skintone or anything but it’s just not a “me” colour. On a positive note, it applied like a dream. Two coats to perfection and it dried nice and quickly. In fact, this is one of the nicest formulas I have seen OPI produce. Just a shame its in a colour that doesn’t really do it for me.
I love crepes though. Just plain with sugar and lemon. None of this Nutella
business. Nom nom. So I thought it was approproate to post this one on pancake day…why not.
How about you? Are you having pancakes today? What’s your favourite thing to have on them?

What a perfect polish for today. I’m not a fan of it either, if I’m honest. Will be having my pancakes with lemon and sugar. In fact, I might see if I can swing it for me to go round to the Parental Units – Dad makes the best pancakes!
i have this too and i’m not mad keen either – in fact i’ve never worn it!

I’m not a big fan of this colour either, it’s the disappointment of that collection.
Sugar and lemon all the way, I think pancakes should be kept simple!
I like this shade. Dried blood, how yummy sounding! We have Fat Tuesday today. It’s the day before Lent. There are lots of parties going on. I won’t be going to any. I’ll be having some seafood for dinner. Love it.
LOVE it. What a brilliant post for Shrove tuesday.
I quite like the colour actually.
