New from Bourjois!

The house of Bourjois will be injecting huge bursts of colour this summer with new collections poised to hit the shops in June and July.  I was fortunate to clap eyes on the delights that await you and I can honestly say, I’ve never been this excited about Bourjois launching something new.

First up is an array of block colours for the nails – the So Laque Ultra Shine Range from Bourjois’s new Paris Showtime collection – and there are 7 new juicy shades to pick from: Lime Catwalk, Rouge Fashionista, Magenta Show, Violet Couture, Bleu Model, Orange Creation and Jaune Trendy.  Bang on trend with the block colours in fashion, this range is bound to slot in nicely.

So Laque Ultra Shine’s Bleu Model

Keep your eyes peeled for Bleu Model, which is akin to the infamous Tiffany blue/turquoise – I reckon this one will be a big seller.  Also Lime Catwalk is an eye-popping lime green.  At £5.99 each for 10ml, I think I’ll be grabbing them all to complete my collection.  Helen, it’s OK to cave into these…

These 7 new shades will be available to buy from Boots, www.boots.com and Superdrug in July.

Sticking with nails, Bourjois is introducing 10 Days Nail Enamel, the first nail enamel that lasts up to 10 days.

Available in 12 colours, the polish contains a fortifying formula (and this is the clever bit), a angled touch-up brush.  The concept behind the design of the brush is you use the angled part to touch-up any chipping for an extra 3 days hold, on top of the 7 days the polish will hold for.

Also the brush is wide and profiled to fit perfectly along the nail and give it instant curve.  I’ve given it a try and although handling the brush feels strange compared to conventional nail polish brushes, it is really easy and quick to use.

The consistency is also different – noticeably thin but not thin enough to be transparent.  A thick lacquer would make it very hard to do touch-ups without looking obvious.  I’m wearing shade 19 (with no top coat) and the finishing is smooth and shiny.  I’ll let you know if it passes the 7-10 day test.

Again, these polishes are priced at £5.99 for 9ml.

Now the eye shadow pots are a classic part of Bourjois’s identity so they have created a new range called Intense Eyeshadow, which can be worn wet or dry.  The key is in its name – it’s intense in colour and consistency.

One single application is twice the density of the normal Bourjois eyeshadow pot.  A quick swatch proves this.

One swatch mark shows how strong these eyeshadows are

Also the pots are flatter and 0.5 gram lighter, making them more compact and easier to store.

The new Intense Eyeshadow next to Bourjois’s regular eyeshadow pot

The main difference with the Intense Eyeshadow range is its composition – great news for fans of mineral-based cosmetics, Intense contains up to 87% mineral pigments and a silky texture to allow a long lasting and even coverage.  The hypoallergenic formula is paraben-free so it’s suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers like myself.

Available in 10 shades, these pots are priced at £6.99 for 1g and will be in the shops in June.

3D Effet lipgloss in Brun Exotic

One of my favourite make-up products to use on a regular basis is Bourjois’s 3D Gloss Effet Lip Gloss.  New for summer and water-proof, Bourjois have introduced 2 new shades – Rose Pacific (49), a shimmery pale pink and Brun Exotic (50), a sugary brown from their Delice de Soleil collection.

With an SPF of 15 and paraben-free, the glosses will give keep your lips moisturised and hydrated, not to mention look great and they apply effortlessly.

Holding the lipgloss to the light, the contents shimmer with more glitz than high-end lipglosses I’ve bought and tried.  The new lipglosses contain coconut so the scent of that is enough to transport you to a swinging hammock in the Maldives.  Well, I can dream.  By the way, I think the regular range smell of Refresher sweets, which is amazing!

The Gloss Effet 3D lipglosses are priced at £6.99 and there are 17 shades to choose from.

Two more products from the same collection are these new bronzing products to get your hands on – one is a pressed bronzer designed in a sleek compact with a mirror that swivels 360°.  Multi-functional – we like!

Available in two shades (12 fair/medium skin and 14 olive/tanned skin), the compact costs £8.99.

The other is a bronzing powder in a spray can for the face and body.  The idea is to spray the bronzer over the desired areas for an even coverage without any need to blend.  No more faffing around for a big, fat brush plus this will slip into your handbag easily.

Available in two shades (12 fair/medium skin and 14 olive/tanned skin), it retails at £7.99.

Tell me you’re not thrilled at the sight of these.  Which ones tickle your French fancy?

I’ve not looked at Bourjois for years now but I have taken notice of the fact that in the last year or so they’ve really started bringing prods out that have caught my eye and interest.

Will have to check these out when they hit the shelves…
