Nars Exotic Dance & Mekong

Remember the other week when I reviewed Bumble & Bumble Defrizz? Well, I receoved more comments on the eyemakeup I was wearing in the photo than I did about the hair serum itself. So, I thought I’d better bump this post up from the depths of the scheduled vaults and show ou all what I was wearing in more detail.

Back in April, I reviewed Nars’ Spring eyeshadow duo offerings. Well, I was sure that I could get Exotic Dance to work better for me than it did on my first attempt, so I revisited it, this time adding a little Mekong into the mix.

Mekong is an absolute classic Nars eyeshadow single, and one that any fan of make-up should really own. Used wet, it makes a fantastic eyeliner, as you can see here, and used dry it is the perfect dense brown crease contrast shade, with enough gold shimmer to make it not look flat and boring.

So, rather than using the white of Exotic Dance all over my eye and using the gold shade as contrast, I opted to use the gold shade on my lid, with the white as an under-eye highlighter. I then smoothed some Mekong into the crease and I have to say, I am far happier with this look than previously. I like Exotic Dance but just used as a duo, it just wasn’t quite dramatic enough for me.

What do you think?
