Hair styling mousse may not be an exciting product to review but Michael Van Clarke’s 3 More Inches Volumising Mousse deserves a mention for improving and enhancing the feel and look of my hair. I was pretty enamoured with Shu Uemura’s Ample Angora mousse, however that’s now been relegated because if slightly too much is used, it makes my hair feel sticky.
This mousse is suitable for all hair types with different results – it smooths coarse hair and fine hair appears thicker and weightier, adding control and putting up a good fight against the blustering wind, frizz and humidity too. A blend of cashmere protein helps to protect the hair against heat and styling tools too, giving the tresses a healthy shine. It’s also unbelievably lightweight and does not have that sticky after effect you get with other mousses.
Since having the chop, maintaining it with 3 More Inches Volumising Mousse has transformed my hair into a sleek and glossy bob that swishes – just the way my stylist made it look on the day it was cut. I use about a golf ball size, which is sufficient for my fine hair. I fleet between washing my hair every day to every other day (depending on whether I have to leave the house) and this mousse hasn’t deteriorated with regular use.
If you’re on the look-out for a hair mousse that delivers on all accounts, be prepared to pay a little extra for it – this one comes in at £12.50 but it’s worth every penny…and available directly from Michael Van Clarke’s 3 More Inches website with free delivery.
