I knew it wouldn’t be long before other brands started bringing out nail polish removers in a pot so roll up, Maybelline! Ladies, this is their new Express Remover.
The concept is exactly the same as the others you’ve seen – dip your finger in the soaked sponge and the polish comes off in seconds. It doesn’t quite take it all off in one dip, more like 2-3 for a gloss nail lacquer (and probably a couple more for glitter work) but it is still very quick compared to soaking cotton pads in remover. It also smells lovely and is gentle on the nails, moisturising them at the same time.
All in all, I estimate it takes less than a minute to wipe the polish off your nails. Far more kinder to the environment than throwing away cotton pads, the only downside is when it goes murky from excessive use and your nails start to look discoloured from the cocktail of used nail polish accumulated in the pot. Well that’s the sign to change your pot.
Maybelline New York’s Express Remover is available from June in Superdrug and Boots stores, priced at £4.99.
