Remember the pre-wedding no-buy where I was (on the whole) very well behaved and stopped hauling make-up and nail varnish by the bucketload?
Well, all I can say is that it’s a good job that I didn’t clock these little beauties from Max Factor before the wedding.
Up until recently I only had one Max Factor polish which I haven’t reviewed as yet as it didn’t really excite me. It’s in my box of “boring” untrieds that I suppose I should start working my way through. But recently I was in Superdrug, stocking up on my Holy Grail Masterpiece Max mascara, and these little pretties caught my eye.
At £3.49 each, they are not cheap. These are mini bottles and I think you’d get maybe less than 10 applications from a bottle, depending on the size of your nails of course. I think I used about a fifth of the bottle doing the three coats that this polish required.
However – I absolutely love the range. I think I ended up buying about six of
them (shhhh) as there are frosts, duochromes and glitters on offer here – all of them absolutely fabulous. I got so excited about these that I nearly took a photo of them all to show you but I decided that one by one would be better!
I wore this for about four days in the end as events conspired against me and left me with no time to change my polish. It lasted brilliantly and I had no chips and very little tipwear which I put down to the metallic foil effect binding it to the nail. I also wore this to a few client meetings as I figured it was just about work appropriate…although somewhat glitzy.
So – it’s love. Nice one, Max Factor. I have a massive queue of untrieds to get through but I keep wanting to inch these polishes up to the front of the waiting line. So that should indicate how impressed I am – and all with something from the humble high street.
